Looking into a cheap HDTV OTA antenna. There is a liquidation place that has a few, cheapest being Philips for 9.99. has an HDTV logo, and 64 KM beside it. Thoughts?

Or what about something at The Radio Shack by Circuit City?

Any good spots in Montreal for an OTA HDTV antenna inexpensive? Thanks!

On a cheap antenna it will be the loop or bow tie that bring in most of the DTV channels which are in the UHF band. The rabbit ears are basically analog channels 2-17 in the VHF

This could work fine, if you are close to the broadcast tower, have direct line-of-sight and there aren't too many walls or there is a window to aim out of. 10 bucks is a cheap experiment.

Otherwise consider a Zenith Silver Sensor clone.

But then I got hooked and traded up to an attic installed Clearstream 4. Lots of people here started small then went to full sized outdoor antennas

By the way, if you live on the south shore of Montreal, you can go to Mastervox electronique on Tasheraeu Bvld. They sell antennas and converter boxes over there.

Rxheaven, tu dit que tu ne trouve pas d'antenne localement.Je crois que tu pourrais te procurer une cm4228 ou 4221 chez un marchand d'electronique sur la rue notre-dame dans l'est de Montreal.

P.S: avec la loi de la protection du consommateur, je crois que si tu n'est pas satisfait de ton achat, tu as 10 jours pour retourner l'article acheté.

Faux: rien n'oblige le commerçant à rependre un bien vendu ou d'avoir une politique de retour. Par contre il ne peut pas faire une représentation fausse ou trompeuse; dans un tel cas un remboursement pourrait être réclamé.

Pourtant un marchand de la rive su (blvd tashereau) m'avait affirmer que si ma reception ne s'ameliorait pas avec l'antenne qu'il voulais me vendre, je pouvais la rapporter...Donc verifier la politique de retour de ;)marchandise est une evidence..

Si vous voulez faire le test, essayez de retourner quelque chose chez Best Buy. Ils vont le reprendre, mais avec certains frais associés.

J'ai consulté mon avocat et il formel: la facture est le contrat de vente. S'il n'est pas mentionné des modalité de remboursement sur la facture, le commerçant n'est pas obligé de me remboursé.

You can try Roger @ rps http://www.rpssat.com/ Mind you I asked him for a tower quote a few years ago, he gave me a few options to choose from, I chose but once I got the quote I decided to keep my old ghetto setup :) I think it like $950 or $1150 something like that? I think I asked for a 30' or 40' tower or something? Not sure it was a while ago.

I think I am going to buy it. I am getting all the channels but ABC; recently, I lost FOX 44. Don't know why.

Je cherche du fil de cuivre #6 monobrin ou encore mieux des tiges de cuivre de 3/16". Métaux solutions à Lachine a une tige de 3/16" de 12 pieds, mais pour la seconde, il me faudrait patienter d’une à deux semaines. Quelqu'un aurait-il une idée où je peux me procurer cela (fil #6 ou tige de 3/16") à Montréal ou à Laval.

Finalement j'ai été chercher une tige (diam. = 3/16" et longueur = 12 pieds) chez Métaux solutions et j'ai commandé une seconde qui devrait arriver vers la fin de la semaine prochaine.

I'm looking for a place to buy "Liquid electrical tape" in Montreal. I've already tried the usual suspects (Canadian Tire, Rona, Reno, Walmart) to no avail. I called Home Depot and they say they don't have that. Yet another case of.. elsewhere in Canada it's sold at HD, but not here in Montreal. Very Annoying.

Any brand will do, but Performex or Star Brite are brands I know make this product.

I got mine at Walmart on Henri-Bourassa in Montreal Nord.


The other Walmarts did not have the liquid tape only this one.

@intravino: Where did you find the liquid electrical tape? Electronics department or hardware? Thanks!
