Give a shout to these guys http://importbestbuys.com/catalog/ I think the owner is named Stephane I am sure he can get it for you if they do not have it in stock already.

Or you can try http://www.rpssat.com/ Guy's name is Roger, he doesn't have much product in stock but always gets what I need in about 1-2 days.

Hello,

I need a better Horizontal Pole (or mast) to attached to my tower. The upper part of my tower is full. I got one last year at Addison but it was short and crappy.

I need a horizontal J-Pipe but it has be long 6 feet.

All this hate for Mont Calm, I'll have to start recommending Raybel from now on.

I didn't have any problems with Mont Calm, I called, they said they had the antenna I wanted, I drove there and they sold me the antenna. I didn't have a problem with them, but I only had a whole "5 minutes" at Mont Calm.

Last week, I got a eave mount at Raybel.

Took it home, opened the book and checked my eaves.

I did have 2 feet between mounts so for a 10 feet mast it is really not recommended.

The day after, brought it for refund, the guy ( not Jean ) said no problem, I taped back the box.

I say the Delhi chimney mount, purchased it right away from them.

Montcalm would off told me off for a refund or exchange.

My two cents,

Hi i live in pierrefonds , montreal, Quebec, i am looking for the best antenna to get OAT channels in HD. I got an indoor RCA antenna and tried it , but got (no channel HD). I am thinking for outdoor one [B],compact , motorized. Have any body try any one which are on e-bay or there is other sites have better deals. Or do really the ones (do it yourself work). I appreciate the reply as i cheched the forum and lost between many choices. Thanks.

gaby do not buy an antenna off ebay - those are garbage and you will waste your money!!!

First read this thread before you buy anything so that you will see what type of OTA gear people in Pierrefonds and around your area are having the best success with:

Used towers can be found on Kijiji, Craigs, LesPacs, websites. Although its rare to find a 60 ft.

Hi Stampeder!

Oh, you're in the Montreal area? We have had a string of negative comments about that company recently  but there might be other options:

OTA: Quebec Parts, Sales, Service, Installers (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=51078)

Gee, I guess I missed that update (I am subscribed to that thread)... I'll go through that thread again but AFAIK the only possible option for me seemed to be Montcalm (I'm on the South Shore of Montreal).

If you look at the first(!) page of that thread you'll see I have been trying to find an installer for a while now and have been unsuccessful. Raybel actually recommended I deal with a place that no longer does these kind of installations and the owner almost seem willing to do it as a favor if the tower had still been in good shape (which it is not...).

I have a bad feeling that the fact that the old tower has to be removed will make finding an installer even more difficult...

Thank you and have a nice day!

Nick

I am a little wary of buying used tower. From reading posts there could be many issues. Anyone know where can be bought new?

Save And Replay has towers, but I don't know what their shipping to QC would be like. Have you tried Raybel and Addisson?

Raybel has one but it seems to be a little pricy. I thought I could obtain one for under 1k. Guess I will look around some more!

Try contacting some ham radio operators or gear shops.

Hi All,

I have seen one (Apex DT250A) digital converter box for $40. It normally retails for $80. Is this a very bad one? Otherwise I haven't seen any others in the shops.

Best
Alicia

Which store did you see the Apex for $40 in? That's a very low price! The Apex isn't the best but for that price it would be fine. :)

based on feedback from best buy, and from others, the Apex 250 is not even comparable to the Apex 502, many seem to confuse the two!

Alix:
Odd, the site is in U.S. dollars, I just e-mailed them to see if they have a physical store (domain whois points to Ville Saint Laurent) :)

balm:
The reviews for the 250 are mixed, most people find if you can get it for cheap you can live with the "wonky" menu and long scan times. You also can't manually add channels but oddly enough you can PUNCH IN a manual channel, but it doesn't get added to your channel up and channel down buttons.

If you don't have a rotor, this is a bargain :)
