One thing I do each spring is record a short segment of Coach's Corner on my PVR. During the summer I use it to demonstrate to the unbelieving and uninitiated what they are missing by not having HD. Don's jackets never fails to impress them.

I have been watching the CBC HD feed for the Pit./Phili. game tonight, the audio has been out of sync since the start of the game and the whole feed has been freezing for most of the second period lasting several minutes at a time. I've had to switch to the SD. I've noticed this a lot of CBC HD. Glad to see our tax dollars are being put to good use. Anyone else having issues?

Same issues here - (Cogeco) - keep switching between HD and "caveman" feeds. (711-6)

My mistake, I get the same issues as well. It just wasn't noticable during gameplay.

I had the same problem watching it on Rogers

I'm noticing that The National isn't sync'd properly either. I'm watching it from the PVR recorded from CBC-HD 286.

I didn't really notice a problem until the goals when Bob Cole would yell "Scores" an instant before the puck went in the net. He's usually a few seconds behind the play, so I knew something was wrong.

Had that problem yesterday off an antenna.

Might be an issue on CBC's end.

There was a problem with the ATSC encoder on Toronto. It took awhile to get it fixed partly because you can't see lip sync issues when there are no faces on the screen. The ATSC encoding is the last step before the signal leaves the building.

Most broadcasters will do a "lip sync" test before they go on the air. CBC is usually pretty conscientious about this kind of thing, so it may have been a problem that developed after the opening on-camera segments.
