: CBC HD Hockey - Split from Official CBC Thread
Stoakley Audio 2007-05-06, 08:01 PM Hey all,
Just shipped off a query to the A1 from the game last night to find out what happened. If he's in a 'good mood' I should hear something by tomorrow. If he's in a 'bad mood' I won't hear from him till much later!!!
:D
Cheers!
roger1818 2007-05-06, 11:51 PM The CTV (CJOH) news tonight said that games 1 and 2 are likely to be Thursday and Saturday, but we will have to wait for the NHL to release the schedule to know for sure.
99gecko 2007-05-07, 12:25 AM I knew something was up with the CBC feed!!!
I was in Illinois over the weekend. Luckily the people we were visiting had the decency to Tivo the VS. broadcast so I could watch the game (after the Brewers game was finished of course  )
I was surprised by the VS. announcer stating ".. we welcome the viewers from CBC", or something to that effect.
Unfortunatesly for me, I guess their Tivo stopped recording with 42 seconds left in the game. I had to check the Internet to find out if that scramble produced a goal.
Anyway, I had to explain to my hosts that CBC carries the games in Canada, not VS. or ESPNx.

That makes a bit more sense. Especially if the Det-San Jose series ends today. We'll just have to wait for the official announcement from the NHL.
Cheers.

LOL. True, but CBC got the advertising revenue. I wonder if CBC had to pay them something to use their feed.
One thing I found interesting was they used the CBC scoreboard during the play, but used Versuse's replays (you could see a big red VS before and after the replay).
I am looking forward to Stoakley Audio's report on what happened.

I believe only a portion the audio was from VS. The video feed was from the CBC.
Juggie 2007-05-07, 02:29 PM From a friend:
CBC will have sens (obviously) plus part of the west series but not all. That being said they have first choice. (My opinion: if det wins, they are likely to pick the anaheim games and let tsn take detroit (as to avoid two games on at once) if its anaheim/sj its a toss up.)
Secondly, the problem w/ encore was quote 'audio board is shot' i never asked for more detail, apparently the replacement arrived today and encore is headed to toronto for repairs before heading to buffalo.
Finally, if SJ wins tonight, then i'm told Game1 of the East finals is Thursday, if det wins, then likely Wednesday.
Juggie 2007-05-07, 02:40 PM I should add that Thursday does seem a little early, given NBC is advertising having game4 next Saturday the 19th. But its what i was told. I've also heard it might start saturday night, so i guess its up in the air.
shabbs 2007-05-07, 02:41 PM I hope NBC are mistaken. Waiting a whole week seems a bit odd. But you never know.
roger1818 2007-05-07, 03:13 PM If what happened with Game 2 of the Ottawa/Pittsburgh series (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070410.wxnhlcbc10/BNStory/Entertainment/home) is any example, NBC will probably get their way.
shabbs 2007-05-07, 03:22 PM Yeah - that was quite the slap in the face of the CBC at the hands of the NHL. But I guess the NHL viewed "promoting the NHL in the USA using Sid the Kid" as a higher priority in the grand scheme of things.
Cheers.
Juggie 2007-05-07, 04:00 PM The rangers/sabers double OT game last week as well was in the afternoon because of NBC.
roger1818 2007-05-08, 12:02 AM Well it looks like NBC isn't going to get their way. According to CJOH (CTV Ottawa) news, Game 1 is Thursday, Game 2 is Saturday, Game 3 is Monday and Game 4 is Wendnesday. Not sure where they got this from as the NHL hasn't published the scheudle yet on their website yet.
DSgamby 2007-05-08, 12:16 AM TSN also announced the schedule for the East.

notsure 2007-05-10, 09:37 PM Anyone else notice the audio dropping out during some of the commercials (thank god only the commercials) during the sens game tonight? Or maybe it was just a BEV issue?
GO SENS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
shabbs 2007-05-10, 09:46 PM We had it too on Rogers here. Only on the commercials though.
