I called Cogeco and they said they have no plans to add Leafstv HD(Rogers and Bell already have). Too bad cause they are showing all 15 games in hd this year. I'd switch to Bell if it wasn't for the fact they simsub.

Cogeco should substitute programming on MPIX HD with the HD broadcast of tonights Leafs TV production of the NJ Devils/Maple Leafs game. Sounds like a good idea to me.(Directv does something like that with their Sunday Ticket games)

I was just advised by a CSR with Cogeco that they will be showing the remaining Leaf games on LeafsTV in HD. The rep told me they got the word too late that the games on this channel were going to be filmed in HD(yeah right).

It's 15 games over 7 months. There is worse crap taking up bandwidth. You really do hate the Leafs. I can't stand MLSEL but to say NHL hockey in HD is a waste of bandwidth is ridiculous imo.

No he did not know what channel it was going to be on(as I asked that very question) but he said the next game and all remaining Leaf games on Leafs TV would be broadcast in HD. We'll see what transpires.

I was talking to a Rogers CSR on another problem...no channel 540 in Ottawa...and he mentioned that Leafs TV HD is now on Rogers on channel 500....not in Ottawa due to blackout restrictions.

He also mentioned that a major remapping of the Rogers HD channel was coming up.

Just got off the phone with Cogeco and they are now saying(official statement CSR's were given) that they were notified too late by Leafs TV to show the games in HD. This is why last nights game was not available. It goes on further to say that they are working on getting the games in HD in the future.

This does not sound as promising as was the conversation last night. Oh well..typical Cogeco.

Don't expect to see the Leaf games on Leafs TV in HD on Cogeco this season. They are only testing these games on Bell and Rogers this year. Maybe next year. Thanks for coming out.

FYI, on Rogers in Toronto, the LeafsTV HD channel (on 500) has nothing on it when there is no game on. So you aren't missing anything besides the Leafs TV games (which admittedly is pretty major :)

Cogeco should get their heads out of their ass though. It was public knowledge that Leafs were planning on showing all 15 games in HD on Leafs TV in July or Aug. They could have shown some initiative but they don't know what their customers want imo. So yes, Cogeco does suck.

What channel is it on on Expressvu? Is it 422?

I emailed Cogeco this morning, as the first Leafs TV game is scheduled tomorrow, here is their response:


"Thank you for taking the time to contact us via email at Cogeco Cable.

Effective Thursday, October 11th, Cogeco will be launching Leafs TV HD in upgraded areas. This new service will be made available on two channels (276 and 467) for customer convenience. Although the network will be carried on two channels, the content will remain the same on both. To receive the new service, customers must have a HD ready receiver and subscribe to Leafs TV and the HD Access fee.

Please note that Leafs TV HD is not a duplicate of Leafs TV and will normally only broadcast when there is a game being shown on Leafs TV standard."

It's showing on channel 467 as LFTHD. 276 is till not showing up though.
