Maxnet High Speed
9/1 (60 GB)
$38.45 ($33.45 with TV)

It figures it would be this fast when I test for posterity. I have never seen it this fast when I've visited here before. Often massive jitter, packet loss, etc.

OK, so I'm cheap, I got Teksavvy's "Basic" service, which is advertised as 512/512 kbits, but it's really 640/512 (for me at least). Here is the test

What service are you paying for? (IOW, what speed does the ISP advertise and how much is it)?

thanks!

I am on what they call the Advanced package which gives me up to 5.2 Mbps
(with 900 MHz radio: up to 3100 kbps) download and up to 1.2 Mbps
(with 900 MHz radio: up to 720kbps) upload with a 60GB cap per month. Price on that package is $60/month. We have yet to hit the 60GB cap and we've been downloading alot of stuff. I believe i have the 2.4ghz radio but with a 6' yagi on it so from what i can tell it knocks me down to 900mhz. Paying the same amount as when i was on satellite internet but with way better results overall.

Thanks, I guess 2.72/450 isn't so bad when they advertise 3100/720.

I'm going to re-test VDN the next time I'm there, the test I posted is close to the advertised rate but I don't think we ever really get it.

Acanac 5M, now they are charging 24.95/month + 8.00 for dry loop

http://www.speedtest.net/result/834630136.png

their modem isn't that nice, sometimes it will drop below 1M speed and I have to reboot the modem to regain the 4-5M speed:o

Shaw gave me a complimentary 1-month trial of their High-Speed Extreme (15 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload).

Oddly enough, these results are worse than those I posted last year (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=49594&page=23) with their High-Speed Internet service (7.5 Mbps download and 512 Kbps upload)

Following DigitalEight's advice, I retested on testmy.net and got a download of 5.8 Mbps. That's more representative of my sustained downloads after the initial PowerBoost quits.

Shaw Highspeed warp,
$100/month
50Mbps Down 3Mbps Up
went to it mostly for the 250Gb of usage since I'm usually way over that, and the insane speed is nice, always host when playing CoD

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1001830516.png (http://www.speedtest.net)

I'm actually faster but the speedtest servers can't handle my speed.
I can hit 50Mbps with a few well seeded torrents easy
