Imagine my surprise when thumbing through a nondescript marketing flyer included with the 'Invasion: The Complete Series' DVD and stumbling upon a two-page HD-DVD spread with all-new HD-DVD cover art for both 'Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season' and 'The West Wing: The Complete Seventh Season?' fyi... West Wing S7 HDDVD is up for pre-order on bestbuy.ca and it's only $50. probably an error but you may want to try to capitalize on it.

Warner Bros hasn't announced this set yet, and last I heard they weren't working on it (it was canned shortly after that flyer was printed).

TV-DVD releases sell a fraction of the copies that movies sell, so TV titles released on HD-DVD or Blu-ray will sell a fraction of the copies movies sell, in a market that's already a fraction of the DVD market. Obviously there are still some titles being released, but the studio has to be VERY sure that they can make money, and they figured The West Wing season 7 wouldn't do as well as they needed it to do at this time, so they held off releasing it. Universal has also held off releasing Battlestar Galactica a number of times (among other titles).

Galactica makes me want to support HD DVD. Unfortunately, I need more than that to justify the cost of the player.

Yes, Galactica is on the list TheBits posted the other day. It was also supposed to be out in October last year, then it was moved to December, and moved again to March of this year. Hopefully it actually gets released now, though I know a number of the other titles (TV) on the list will most likely be moved. I was surprised Bill posted the list like that, and I know Universal is pissed off about it.
