Does anyone have the name of the organization in Rogers that looks after cell phone tower planning. A number would also be helpful.

Thx...

It would be great to have this information for Bell as well. There is a dead spot along a highway that i would like to talk to them about.

The department within Rogers which manages its Cellular communications towers is called Network Operations.. They do NOT have a public phone number that I'm aware of, but... They ARE located in Mississauga somewhere near east gate parkway.. Perhaps you could e-mail or call rogers, make arrangements with then first, and if your request is important enough, they can contact you back.. im sure thats how it works with other carriers too.

The department responsible for cell site planning is Rogers Wireless New Site Development (NSD) located at the Rogers Campus at One Mount Pleasant. They do not deal directly with the public. You can contact Rogers the normal way or through the Office of the President.

Yes, I might try the Office of the President...is there a direct number for them....or an email address.

My problem is the lack of cell phone coverage in my area...its really non existent even though I live in the city. The problem is there's no tower near me...its not an obsticle/line of site problem. I called last winter and did eventually get thru to the wireless planning people who said they were already looking at the problem. So I'd like to follow up. I tried the regular help line and got bounced around by the CSRs and gave up.

mind you. sometimes snobby people like to lobby and protest against new cellsites beign erected. yet, those people are the ones who complain about lack of cellphone signal in their areas..

otown47, are you using a phone that has the 850MHz GSM band?

Its a Motorola v186. I believe it uses the 850MHz GSM band

Yes, it does.
So, unfortunately, nothing can be done through cellphone upgrade. You've got to keep complaining to Rogers about the coverage.

My latest "bug Rogers" effort has made some progress. Rogers sent a guy around the neighbourhood to test the signal and confirmed back that the signal is low. They are going to to fix the problem at some point in the future by installing a "low 50 frequency" something or other. Does anyone know what this is????

Rogers has *GSM to call to report dead zones. I was given the number when I first signed up.

Probably that 850 Mhz radio/antenna at a nearby site only configured for their upper band.
