: Aliant ending $5 ExpressVu discount.
coaster 2006-06-15, 10:44 AM From letter dated 13 June 2006.
"At Aliant, we continue to review our product and service offerings to ensure we are meeting the needs of valued customers like yourself. However, evolving market conditions, including the cost of providing high-quality products and services, make it difficult for us to continue certain promotions.
Unfortunately we are not able to continue offering the $5 monthly ExpressVu discount in your Value Package"
The CSR indicated he would send (escalate) my statement of dissatisfaction to Marketing to add to the other customer complaints.
I note the letter stated "difficult" not impossible.
Thanks BCE. I hope my five bucks helps keep you solvent!
barter 2006-07-01, 11:30 AM They entice you into getting a bundle and expressvu with a $5 credit, then they cut's off your discount half way through your contract.
I never received by letter yet. And my credit is still present as of my last bill.
Newfie' 2006-07-02, 06:59 PM I lost my discount when I switched to Highspeed Ultra. Oh well. It's only $5. It's better then all the promos that bell has "lost" on my account, promise to fix, but never do.
Nemnoch 2006-07-02, 11:44 PM newfie not sure why you lost your $5 discount when you switched to hse ultra. that should not have happened, unless you took a promo at that time. if so that promo would superceed your existing promo.
barter, they could not have ended your $5 bundle from bell discount without a reason. what change did you make to your bundle?
nem, who wants to know, even though it's a little off topic.
coaster 2006-07-03, 08:05 AM Perhaps Newfie used his $5 to upgrade to Ultra and the discount is lost to the extent that his bill has gone back up by $5.
It does not appear that Barter lost his discount. It seems he just expects to lose it at a later date.
Newfie, I was going to do the same with my five bucks but I'm too far from the central office for Ultra. I'm at the extreme end of the line for high speed with the resulting speed degradation. Aliant thus far has ignored my suggestion of a line extender. The CSR did tell me something was happening in a few weeks due to increased new business and residential building in our area. Hopefully he was correct.
Newfie' 2006-07-04, 07:05 PM When I upgraded the CSR just told me in order to do the upgrade I was going to lose the discount, I didn't really care though (it's only $5).
And I used to be just like you, but luckily, Aliant just put a brand new Wic on Logy Bay Road and I ordered Ultra the day it was available on the website :P
barter 2006-07-20, 05:24 PM My $5 credit is present on my July bill.:)
coaster 2006-07-31, 07:31 PM My $5.00 credit is gone on my July bill.
barter 2006-08-21, 09:15 PM Still getting my $5 dollar credit on August bill. May have somthing to do with me renting receiver's under contract.
brunes 2006-08-24, 07:10 AM They entice you into getting a bundle and expressvu with a $5 credit, then they cut's off your discount half way through your contract.

Doesn't changing the terms of the contract invalidate it?
barter 2006-08-25, 02:38 PM The discount should be "grandfathered", as it was part of a offer to entice ppl to get expressvu through aliant. My terms were not changed, I still receive it.
okcomputer 2007-08-13, 04:17 PM I finally received a letter in regards to the $5 credit ending. It will apparently not appear on my September bill, which is when my Expressvu contract ends.
Sonuva.
barter 2007-08-13, 04:32 PM Mine ran out after 2 years in june.
