Are we going to see a change in overall quality when Setanta is rebranded to Sportsnet World on Oct. 3rd? The gulf between Sportsnet football content and Setanta content is huge. I hate it.

In a move that doesn't surprise me at all, the Setanta free preview today ended BEFORE the Champions League game started!
Seeing as my favourite team was involved, I was a bit upset to say the least!

Mine is still on. I think it is supposed to end wednesday or Thursday.

That's not right!
What provider are you with, I'm with Bell.

Shaw Direct (formerly known as Star Choice). Over the weekend Setanta moved to a different location - from ch 239 to 460 - but it's still going. FC Porto v Shakhtar Donetsk is on right now.

The Benfica v Man Utd Setenta HD feed again is a joke compared to the quality were getting in the Zagreb v Real Madrid, and City v Napoli games on Sportsnet. Seriously, it's a disgrace, for such a big match, were getting a horrible HD picture.

Evidently your provider is prioritising bandwidth to the bigger games. Makes good sense.

"Bigger match" is too objective for Rogers to decide. No, Setanta has always had poorer PQ than Sportsnet. Watch the Saturday EPL games and flick back and forth, it's very obvious.
I find it odd, since Setanta is a pay station, and Sportsnet is a basic or just-above-basic tier channel.

I'm with Bell and I thought the Man U picture was just fine and did not pick up any noticeable difference between it and Man City. Any perceived difference might also be due to the picture provided by the parent country - in this case Portugal.

Have you been experiencing any sort of audio cut-out (about every minute or so) for the last week on Setenta HD? I have and was wondering if others have the same problem or if it's just me.

I'm on Bell - not me.

I'm on Bell TV as well and I have not experienced any audio or video issues.

Setanta Sports Channel being rebranded Sportsnet World starting tomorrow starting at 6:00 p.m. ET. I'm curious to see what changes, if any, the new name will bring. It has been rumoured that we may see cricket on the channel? I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of that as I have never really had the opportunity to watch it. It has to have something going for it being the second most popular sport in the world. I would like to understand it better.

Second most popular sport in the world? I didn't even think it was the second most popular sport in England.

It isn't in England, but that doesn't mean it isn't the world. It is very popular in India, Australia and the Caribbean.

Add in South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and a few others. Huge following, and huge money in South Asia.

It has been rumoured that we may see cricket on the channel?I expect they'll put some IPL cricket on when it starts in April, but I'd be surprised if they add other cricket. They'll likely just use their other Sportsnet properties (tennis, cycling, etc.) to fill in the schedule.

I too would enjoy seeing more cricket on Setanta, less tape delay stuff too so you can properly follow the league.

Website also changed over this morning. Says there will be cricket (no details), cycling and watersports. (shows a pic of a kayaker)
