There is no soccer because it is a break for EURO 2012 qualifying, which is on Friday and Tuesday. So all of the European leagues are off for the weekend. It is odd that Setanta didn't pick up rights to any European qualifying games though.

Yeah, I found that odd. I knew the England game would be on PPV, but was surprised the TLN didn't pick up the Italy game as they've been known to do, or for Setanta to carry some of the smaller-ticket games. I did manage to watch the France Belarus game on TV5.

with all the 'negativity' about the quality of Setanta HD picture (Liverpool today I thought was the best this season) a fact which seems to have been overlooked is the much better presentation of Setanta as against TSN and Sportsnet. Their 'Match Day Live' before and after the game gives a build up and after match discussion which is not present with the others e.g. 45 minutes before the Man Utd game yesterday and 1 hour after the Liverpool game today.

On Facebook Setanta said they were working on the issues withnthe HD picture quality. I have to agree it was the best so far. I still miss " Fat Pat " on the before and after game from Setanta Ireland though.

For the last couple of days Rogers-Ottawa HD Setanta chanel (ch569) has shown me a notice saying "Chanel is currently unavailable, Try again later" No problems with the SD version.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Can someone update on Setanta HD. Is it still really choppy?

I saw highlights from Setanta HD on The Score during their Serie A coverage today, it doesn't seem as choppy as it used to be, but it is still choppy and much worse than The Score, Sportsnet and TSN HD. Its even worse than TSN2's 16:9 upconverted Premier League coverage (via ESPN2).

Looks fine to me during Rugby games - I thought the Leister v Munster game looked very good and the Sarries v Leicester game on right now (from ESPN) also looks good.

... the sd broadcast of Birmingham/Blackpool was excellent this evening! Close ups of the action were almost hd-like at times :o

Minority of two. While I wouldn't call Setanta's picture almost HD-like, English soccer games on the SD channel have been fine by me. I've read all the complaints here about the picture, but don't share them. Still, I look forward to Shaw adding the HD channel, hopefully sooner than later.

Setanta HD for me was good since day 1- lucky.

Has anyone noticed that Setanta HD 489 on Rogers for the last 2 days has no audio.
Could it be just me, how lucky ? I have audio on all other channels including Setanta SD 429,
so please tell me I'm not the only one. The picture is near perfect but suddenly no sound.

Working fine for me, right now. Don't recall if I noticed the last couple of days. I watched parts of AC Milan/RM on Wed night, but don't remember what channel it was on.

Very very strange. Since Wed, no audio on just the HD Setanta channel with Rogers channel 469, sorry not 489. The SD channel 429 is fine. I'll see what happens with a reboot then call Rogers. I've checked the TV speakers as well as my receiver. All channels audio is fine except Set HD. Someone living in downtown T.O please respond. I'm close to Yonge/King.
