I have been toying with Google Sketchup (http://sketchup.google.com/)for about a week now and I am starting to like it. For simple 3D house plans this is the ticket. Or you can really fancy. Run the 3 part tutorial in the help menu as it gives you a good start. As with all things Google the online community (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/)is doing some amazing stuff.
Anybody using it? Here are some impressive models (http://www.teamstanek.com/gallery_01_film.html).
Here is an article from CN Money. Google moves into virtual worlds (http://money.cnn.com/2006/05/11/technology/business2_futureboy_0511/index.htm).

Holy cr*p, those are impressive! And I thought I was having fun just making 3-D boxes and rotating them! :p
I guess I really should have a look at the user guide...
Very Impressive, I didn't even know it existed!

I created an imitation of the 20th Century logo, but displaying my home-theater name using Google's tool. I used to use Blender to do this, but Sketchup is way easier to use. I just need to figure out how to create animations with it so I can have a full 20th Century look alike for my HT. :)

I live in Ottawa and would like to learn how to use Sketchup. Does anyone know someone in Ottawa who would give these lessons?
I doubt it but have you started with the tutorials. They are well done.
