Wasup?
I am planning to purchase an HD receiver for Direct TV or Dish Network. Which HD receiver would you recommend?

James is this the same model as the Hughes E86?
I see many positive reviews on the Hughes model.

Not sure but the software (i.e menus) are the same as the Hughes machine.

The DTC-100 is a pretty solid HD Reciever. I bought mine used off ebay a year and a half ago and it is still working perfectly. Recieves, Directv and OTA HD.

I decided against the RCA for a few reasons:
- no component video outs (just VGA). A switch box is available but that's more $
- Toshiba has the same (or similiar) menus as the Hughes machine. I love the ease and simplicty of the Hughes/Toshiba.
- Toshiba also has the ability to combine cable/antennea signals into the main guide.
When the DTC-100 came out, it got great reviews and is a good machine for the money. It was my second choice.
