Just ask Bell to move you if they can't your contract is dead. Will Shaw give you the win-back promo or whatever they call it if you were never there?

Why again to send an installer if jhe knows ahead he can not have the service? All he need to do is send in a fax from the corporation of the comdominium unit where he moves stating he can not have the service. The charges will then be cancelled. Preferably he should do that as soon as he gets an answer

When is the move planned?

Well, we have to sell this condo first. I would hope the move will be in early November.

I'm assuming my signed contract trumps their new fees?

Yes, and no. Your contract also has a phrase in it like Bell reserves the right to alter service, etc from time to time and the terms and conditions posted on the website are the rules in effect. So if the cancellatino fee is $99 or $149, it's whatever the current policy is. And, yes, you are bound by it.

You are also able to use the contract break clause to save having to pay another year of service -- which is what you agreed to do. It's a bargain, seen in that light.

Your contract may have a clause to allow them to change the monthly rate but not the cancellation fee.

If you are moving at the beggening on November call us at the beggening of September to make sure everything will be done for the beggening of November and don't have to pay for an extra month.

Call in to say you will fax the papers prooving that dish is not allowed and tell them to put a note upon reception cause you will call to verify that it has been received. Call back the next day and ask them if they had receive it. Note the name an employe number of the person who takes the call that day, and ask her the name an employe code (ABC, it's three digit letters only or letter + numbers) of the person who puts the note that tey have received it.

Wait for your final bill... If early termination are showing call back. Ask them to fill a request to have them credited. Take the name of the employe who tell you will make the request and take the request number (it should be a long number that look like that (2007-MONTH-DAY-123456)

Wait 3-6 weeks... If still not credit call again...

I think you meant to say call beginning of OCTOBER, otherwise it will be a 60 day cancellation, or are you saying that in this case, because the Poster knows he is not allowed a Dish to actually give 60 days notice of cancellation.?

Well, I'm hoping that the building I do eventually move into will allow dishes, but if not I'll follow the above steps. If I end up paying one extra month for service that I can't actually receive, it's better than the $300+.

He could actually call as soon as he knows for sure, we can place an open ordetr for a period as long as 3-4 months...but at the latest in October.

He could do this

Or call bell when you know where your going to move like everyone else. Your choice.

I know it's semantics but I would call Express Vu, NOT Bell.

He most likely has to call Bell for his phone anyway. Just say I would like to move my Expressvu as well.

But don't forget they are a Communications Company and as such almost never communicate internally, safer to make two phone calls.

I don't use Bell for anything other than television (being in Manitoba, I'm with MTS)... so it's just the satellite TV I'm worried about.

I don't know why we are all debating on what might or might now happen...so far it seem that Mozza doesn't even know to begin with if it will be permitted or not. That would be the first important thing to find out.

What about you trueimage (after all you started that thread) have you been credited the early termination fee?

Mozza
2007-09-09, 09:06 PM
Well, looks like my condo has been bought. So I will be moving out.

The two buildings we're looking at both don't allow satellite dishes.

Two questions:

1. When I move, does the dish stay at my old building? I've only been with BEV for 6 months, but will the dish stay installed?

2. When should I cancel service if I can't actually move with it?

Didn't we do this already! Are you cancelling your service or are you moving? If you are canceling do it anytime you want it will cost you a fee. If you are moving tell them the new address and when you are moving as soon as you know. If you renting the leave it If you purchased the stuff take it.
Let them call you and say were sorry sir we can not provided service at your new location. I think it's been established by all that if they can't hook you up its no charge. OR you can be a hero for expressvu do what others advise. Call in to say you will fax the papers prooving that dish is not allowed and tell them to put a note upon reception cause you will call to verify that it has been received. Call back the next day and ask them if they had receive it. Note the name an employe number of the person who takes the call that day, and ask her the name an employe code (ABC, it's three digit letters only or letter + numbers) of the person who puts the note that tey have received it.

maybe you can get screwed.

Call as soon as you know...

The dish will stay at the current residence. If you want it removed you can take it out yourself or have an Express Vu tech for 75$

Nimiq 1

It is not as simple as just asking a Tech to remove the Dish. There is a special waiver Form that MUST be signed, otherwise it will not be removed.

Even though I'm cancelling before my contract is up, the dish and wiring will stay? I put in the listing documents that the dish would stay, so hopefully it does...
