Has anyone noticed their DCT2500 resetting on the Digital Music Channels lately? Since we got that update with the new guide features, mine has been resetting, anyone else?

hi mine has been doing it. I was one of the first people to call in. they came to my house and replaced the cable box. then not even an hour after he left it happened again. then i called them then they sent a tech out again to replace all my cable lines. and it happened again so then they started getting calls and told us its a known issue.

I was told that a software update should be coming soon, first I was told Oct 18 - but its still happening, I just hope it doesn't take 6 months like it did last time.

Yup I reported it as soon as they pushed the latest software upgrade a few weeks back. However have not gotten so much as a email in response

I have had that problem too the guide would come up and just say current song and than about 5 seconds later the box would reset. Than about after 5 times in a row i just stopped listening to the digital music channels because i got sick of all the guide information having to reload after each reset.

P.S. I was at my mothers house and her DCT2500 was resetting after being on any one of the digital music channels.

This is an old problem that has come back due to firmware upgrades on the boxes (late sept early oct firmware upgrades for SOD).

Also effects 2000 models.

My 2500 reset 4 times in less than 45 mins last night - rediculous!

Yep, happening to me too, and drives me crazy.

A little OT, but since we're talking 2500 boxes... is the VOD on these supposed to work? I know it doesn't yet on the HD boxes, but I thought it would on ours. Mine doesn't... first click on the VOD icon does nothing, second click brings up Info (or mini-guide; can't remember).

Thanks... Perry.

Yes VOD works on the 2000 and 2500 series DCT's however the remote ordering might not be working where you are, but it's not supposed to show up on the menu unless it's available  . Give your local TSR a call and see what's up, but I'd try and order something on VOD via the website first just to confirm that it's just the remote ordering that isn't working.

Thanks, Toque. Since I posted I've had an upgrade that fixed the VOD and the Favourites bug (see the other thread)! Haven't listened to music long enough to see if that bug's still there. I'm not hopeful, but I'm very happy with the other changes.

Anyone else with a DCT 2500 find that once again the digital music ch's are causing your unit to reboot losing all program info till it re downloads

how do you get the idea it involves the box manufacturer?

I believe its only on Shaw....I thought this was fixed again as I was not having an issue, but I will tune to a digital music channel and wait...I'll let you know. :)

because shaw told me that it is motorola.

yeah they told me that way back when this first started over a year ago... So I contacted Motorola and they claimed at that time nice try, it's a shaw issue

there is no definite date when it will be fixed, but shaw and motorola are working on the issue. i am hoping it will be fixed with the next firmware upgrade.

The problem I have with it is that IT WAS FIXED, then the next firmware upgrade brought us back to our original state and we are stuck with it again, I just hope they fix it soon!
