I figure it deserves its own thread.

Are you like me? Has Geometry Wars Evolved taken over your life? I can get to 140k, but I want more!

My Friday Night Videogame crowd isn't interested in COD2, or whatever. They just want to top their highscore on GeoWars.

I think MS has stumbled on something awesome here. Apparently (after the success of GeoWars), studios are now lining up to provide Arcade games.

I've also downloaded Marble Madness Ultra, which is quite good.

What are your experiences with the Arcade?

Loved Hexic and purchased Bejewelled which I found even more addicting... I was even able to get my wife to play each of them (like the first time she's touched a controller *ever*). I also purchased Mutant Storm which is a cool shooter.

It's easy to spend hours on Bejewelled or Hexic... Can't wait to see other games that come out. Wish my old Xbox Live Arcade games from my original xbox would come out. I had purchased Richochet on there and would have loved to bring it over to the new box. Sold my old one so it's gone now. :(

I haven't got into Geometry Wars yet. I'm pretty busy lately so I've found the Live Arcade is where I spend my limited time at night . I'm a big Robotron 2084 junkie so between that, Joust, and Hexic, I'm swamped. One game of Hexic took almost an hour the other night :o

There's a few games like Wik and Outpost Kaloki I'll probably get soon. I'm not sure on Bejeweled and Zuma as I've played them a bit on the PC. Book Worm would be nice to see made.

Live Arcade is cool, it's nice that you can download a demo to try it out first.

I really think that Mutant Storm is a better game than Geometry Wars. Multiplayer, different game styles, the ability to not start from the very beginning each time you reload the game make it a better game in my book.

I bought my wife Bejewelled and Zuma though sometimes I regret it since she plays them so damn much.

I'm curious about Street Fighter 2, Hoopworld and some of the other true 3D arcade titles coming soon.

XBLA is a great feature and has a lot of promise. I'm just not too happy that I've spent so much money on an 'next-gen' system and games, only to wind up playing retro/arcade titles so much of the time. No doubt due to the high price and limited availability of high quality/innovative titles.

To me none of the arcade titles replace the retail games that I've bought but they're a nice diversion for when you want to play for a few minutes and not get into a full game.

Because the arcade titles are largely geared to casual gamers the arcade titles are nice to bring out when you have friends/company over, especially non-gamer types.

I'm patiently awaiting the release of poker, which will be sponsored by some online gambling site and will be free of charge!

Yeah, the Texas Hold'em will be awesome, and free to boot.

Also, the rumor is that on Feb. 26th Street Fighter 2 will be made available. Man, back in university, my mullet and I spent hours of time and quarters playing that game...

Right now, while I wait for the onslaught of awesome games in March, I am playing a ton of Zuma.

Oh, there is supposed to be a Live enabled demo of The Outfit coming out on March 2. I watched some videos of this game over at IGN, and it looks pretty good. Check it out.

I am just downloading the Call fo Duty 2 demo. I am only a silver member...it is taking over 1.5 hours so far to download the 311.0 mb demo. Is this usual? Is this a busy time of night to download demos? I don't remember it being this slow before I was gold when I first got my 360

Yeah The Outfit demo is multiplayer only so if you don't have a gold account you're wasting your time.

That being said the demo was pretty good, the game isn't being received all that well on the gaming forums (as expected since the game requires some strategy and thinking when most of the forumites just want to shoot stuff).

The demo took about 30 mins to download during peak time using Shaw Extreme-1

There is 2 player split screen for the non-gold types. Only tried it online once so far and I didn't use the headset so maybe I wasn't a very good team player. Flamethrower is good fun though!

I was never a fan of the PC version. I am still trying to find time to try some of these games that have demos. I finally tried COD2. Graphics were sweet the controls were tough to get used to but im a PC gamer so the ole KB and mouse syndrome. I have been looking at GRAW but I think it will have too many controls and I will get pi**ed off too easily.

It does have alot of controls ,I say a 15-30 minute learning curve.By the time you finish the first level you'll have it down, seems great so far

Thanks Skidz. I finally got time last night to play condemned and it was really cool. The first level is pretty easy and I didn't die. I like FPS so I will keep playing this game to get used to the controls. I played the COD2 demo as well...pretty sweet.

Don't let the "number of controls" in GR:AW detract you. This is a really great game and not nearly as difficult to learn as people are letting on. It looks daunting because the reviews make it sound like you need to control everything tactically at the level of an RTS, but their is actually very little for you to control (one squad, and one vehicle or a floating camera thingy). Everything controls very easily as well, "move there" or "follow me". If you've played brothers in arms, then learning this is even less of a challenge.

The game also has a bit of aim-helping. It's not as obtrusive as other games where you automatically "lock" on your target. But you get your crosshair/circle on your enemy then the game will automatically adjust your fire towards open targets on the enemy.

I hear RidgeRacer6 demo is up - not sure if its worth the bandwidth or not. I'm just playing Burnout Revenge.
