It saves automatically. Checkpoints are used. I don't think u can save on the fly. If you are talking about Far Cry. If you mean Prey...then im not sure but I seem to remember being able to save on the pc version.

Microsoft has confirmed a new program called 'Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays', which features a regular weekly launch schedule for new Xbox Live Arcade games over the Xbox 360 online service, seemingly addressing multiple recent game delay issues for the much-vaunted service.

Starting today, Xbox Live Arcade users will now go live on Wednesdays at 0800 GMT (Midnight Pacific) to download the first in what will be a series of new releases.

The program will start with a release of Konami's 1981 arcade classic Frogger. Other Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays titles debuting in the coming weeks include Cloning Clyde, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, Galaga and Pac-Man. Details on pricing for each game were not immediately released.

Xbox Live Arcade's Frogger has been enhanced for the Xbox 360, and features new, enhanced artwork that matches and complements the original style. In addition, according to Microsoft, the game's audio, including sound effects and music, has been modernized to sound crisp and clear on today's high performance sound systems.

The complete schedule is announced as follows:

- July 12 – Frogger
- July 19 – Cloning Clyde
- July 26 – Galaga
- August 2 – Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting
- August 9 – Pac-Man

"There's no better way to revisit the 80s than to throw a retro-themed Gold Experience party - complete with the right classic arcade games, music, and pizza," said Ami Blaire, Global Marketing Director for Xbox Live. "So this summer, live it up on your Xbox 360 and enjoy our new twists on the old classic faves."

Good news at any rate, I just hope it's true, guess we'll find out tomorrow.

You have to remember, if it wasn't for us ol'timers playing our hard earned money in the early days of arcades, the game industry wouldn't be where it is today. Every game system out there today has a compilation of Classic Arcade games of yesteryear. They don't make it for people like you that are just interested in the latest hi powered, hi action games with the best graphics ever. They target the older crowd in hopes to get them to buy the machines for their kids. I don't know how old you are but if you are in your early 20's, imagine your dad trying to play Halo or Grand Theft Auto...he'd probably pass on it. Put Space Invaders or Galaga and chances are, he'd kick a$$ on it.

Game tastes can't be debated. It all comes down to when you were born and what influenced you in your teens. Game on brother! :)

PS: I'd love to see Dragons Lair on XBox. Imagine seing that old game in HD...oooohhhhh...Daphne in hidef... :o

like everything else video game, its all personal opinoin and i guess the kids and the ol timers might enjoy those games, i just feel im already paying an arm and a leg for a new game im not gonna spend money on any of those games...
pc gamers are lucky that they get content for free
take ghost recon advanced warfighter 69.99 + tax =80.49 + downloadable content = around $100

im lucky i bought mine off ebay for $50

I personally love the arcade games. I go weeks w/o enough time to sit and play full-on games so the arcade is a nice break in a busy schedule.

As to comment on the high prices of console games. I actually don't mind paying a bit more than the PC versions. I pay for console games because when I get home I want to be guaranteed that it'll to work on the first boot-up. no worries about drivers, cpu speed, and all that jazz anymore!

There's no reason in my mind why a console game costs more than a PC game. Even months upon months after release a console games price is still at full price while it's PC counter part is well reduced.

There's a reason, the console title is still selling well whereas the PC counterpart is not. Why reduce the price when people are still paying for it.

Hence my believe that PC gaming is going to have to change to survive.. but that is best saved for another thread.

How could you call arcade games garbage? REMOVED UNEEDED LANGUAGE
I play most games out there today and my PC is as advance as the market permits me to have it. Yet I still tip my hat and bow to the creator of arcade games. Thanks to those folks I had an amazing childhood and tons of fun with my friends some of which are not around now. So any chance I get to play this and get memories back I welcome the oportunity and thank the people who make it possible these days.

Street Fighter 2 out today and Saint's Row demo was released yesterday.

I haven't tried SF2 yet but was pretty entertained with Saint's Row. Make sure you keep the kids away when playing Saint's Row however, Fbombs and ultra-violence abounds in the demo.
