JesseJ 2006-08-23, 07:02 PM Bump. Tuesday Sept 5.
canad 2006-08-24, 11:02 AM Why did it take them so long to switch over to HD? Or atleast widescreen?. TSN even shows triathalons and fishing in HD now but they are dragging out the launch of sportscentre??
guido 2006-08-24, 12:53 PM my guess is that they are waiting for HD football coverage come September. This will allow them to actually show some HD highlights.
asif9t9 2006-08-24, 10:02 PM They also only recently (say the last couple of weeks) started using their new studio. Must've just finished being built.

The front page of this site is reporting that Sportscentre will only go HD on Sept. 25th.

huh? CFL has almost 3 agmes in HD/WS/ week. Many nights, more than half (up to all) MLB games are in HD. NASCAR is all HD....
TSN contacted me last week and its Sept 25th for launch.
Last February when they first announced it, they said the 5th but this was revised.

Was "does anybody know when it launches" and the next 8 debated it.
Pay attention folks!
canad 2006-09-25, 10:52 AM Well. Today is the day! . I noticed in the local Sun today TSN took out a full page ad in the sports section advertising SportsCentre in HD now :)
thegman 2006-09-25, 02:00 PM "TSN's SportsCentre becomes the first daily news show of any kind in Canada to be presented in High Definition. Join Rod Smith for the first edition of SportsCentre presented in TSNHD today at 6:30 pm et/3:30 pm pt."
via tsn.ca.
That cant be true can it?
Isnt Sportsnets daily sports news show in HD? Just to name one.
I am curious to see if they show hilights in HD though.
markb 2006-09-25, 02:06 PM Sportsnet's show is not HD. It is only in widescreen, that is way it says available in widescreen at the start. Sportscentre will be HD, not widescreen like Sportsnet.
james99 2006-09-25, 03:11 PM Bell owned companies like these "first" labels (even if they are lies).
So, what "news" does TSN show?
patman92 2006-09-25, 03:57 PM So, what "news" does TSN show?
Uhmmm, sports news? ... You know, important stuff like who's wife/girlfriend was seen with another athlete, which athlete beat their spouse that day, which athlete is being busted for something... ;)
Regardless (not irregardless), I will always watch sportsnews over bad news.
First SportsCentre in HD is at 6:30PM
impronto 2006-09-25, 06:21 PM can someone take a screen cap of it if they can? Thanks
trellaine 2006-09-25, 06:58 PM I only see Standard Definition on *choice. :o :o
