It went HD about 35 mins in. It was the same way with UniversalHD on DirecTV.

Definitely not Masters quality thats for sure. From what I saw it looked like they had at least one WS camera out there.

And there were pauses and jitters and stuff. Dont know if thats from TSN or whatever, but I wasnt totally impressed.. THen again, its the seniors, so even if it was high PQ I might not be impressed. :)

Heres hoping the US Open and Ryder Cup look better.

Masters v. Senior PGA = CBS v. NBC

Well its now USOpen week, so that means some NBC HD coverage. But from what I can tell (http://www.hdsportsguide.com/golf.php) ESPN will not be broadcasting the early/late coverage of Round 1 and 2 in HD. Is this a joke? NBC will do 2 hours on these days but not let ESPN do it?

Even tsns coverage/schedule says only 3-5 will be in HD.

As aside, it was also reported that SKY HD will be doing the Ryder Cup in HD, so that does affirm the fact that NBC will be doing it in HD.

TSN has updated their HD schedule and all their US Open broadcasts will be in HD.

assuming tsn correclty picks up the right feed (which I wouldnt wager on, lol), then everything should be hd in all 4 rounds.

TNT and ABC have announced they are going to be showing the Open golf in 16x9 on their respective HD channels. Now the weekend is fine, as most of us get ABC-HD, but does anyone know if TSNHD will be picking up TNTHD's 16x9 on Thursday and Friday?

I have emailed TSN, but seeing as Im batting 0/7 in email responses, I dont expect a response.

Here you go:

Will the British Open be in HDTV this year? Unfortunately, the answer is no. However, like last year, TNT-HD is upconverting the widescreen standard definition feed that is provided by the BBC to 1080i and unlike last year ABC will upconvert it to 720p. This will look way better than the analog version but it's still not HD.

I'm guessing TSN will get whatever ABC / TNT feeds it.

Thanks for the response, but that is what I already know. :)

There will be the 16x9 feed and the 4x3 SD feed. Im just curious if TSNHD is going to pick up the 16x9 feed. There is no mention of it anywhere on TSN. At least nothing I could find.

You mean Canada's HD leader doesn't have a HD schedule :D

Do you remember what they did last year?

I'm guessing you will see the same feed as TNT.

Both TNT and ABC will have two feeds, the regular SD feed and the upconverted feed that they will show on their HD channels. This is new this year.

So the question is, which feed will TSN show on its HD channel ????

Unfortunately weve had our HDtv for only 8 months or so now, so I think I can safely say "I dont remember".

What did tsn do last year?

Being pessimistic sucks, I dont see TSNHD picking up the TNTHD 16x9 feed. :)

Press release issued yesterday. Definitely not HD and no mention of WS version.

It's grainy and the colours are washed out but it is the 16x9 feed.

Just noted on HDTV Galaxy.com that TNT is broadcasting the Brish Open in HD in the States. TSN is our Canadian broadcaster, but I see no indication on their website of their showing it in HD. Does anyone have other information?

It doesn't appear to be live. If you check the clocks alongside the golf course, they're running footage from about 40 minutes back.....

Tiger's eagle on the 18th was posted on websites like Yahoo! and ESPN for 40 minutes before it appeared on TSN.
