For me CKVR is half time fine and half the time will studder.Seems to work better in colder weather.Cant count on it not to studder.Right now its fine at 9:22.6 bars on my old Samsung 151 in my bedroom. My home made yagi has 6 elements made from curtain I beams.Waiting to see if CKVR repeater gets approved before i do anything to improve my reception.

Oh Yes!

Me too, got 80% signal strength from Iron as well as WBBZ. I checked out Tropo it's relatively high today. Although I don’t think it will last to long :( maybe through weekend as the temperature forecast is nice warm for this time of the year.

Live in Brampton, currently receiving Omni 1 and CITY at 94%,
Omni 2 at 93% ...I'm a lucky happy camper with my attic install :)

arrow201, do the signal levels for CITY and OMNI1 represent a change for you, or simply your typical results?

No significant change for me, happy it didn't get
worse like it appears to have happened to some

I have switch to a 8bay clone mounted outside on a tripod at the height of 13 feet..
Getting all the Toronto and US channels i want except CHCH and NBC.. Fox seems to cut in and out.. sometimes it is strong and sometimes unwatchable..
CHCH i know is in a weird direction to catch it..

But missing the NBC from buffalo is baffling..

Here is the tvfool report..

Your TV fool has WGRZ -dt at -11.7 db vs + 11db for wkbw.So its no wonder your not getting WGRZ.Try entering more height into your TV fool and see if signal on TV fool goes up.WGRZ tower is the lower than WIVB and WKBW towers.Your only option is more height.

Hello Folks,

I live at Winston Churchill and The Collegeway and I can't seem to get 57.1 for the past several months?

Here is my TVFOOL report:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d7fb9774f8b5277

I have a hacked 4221HD with an upgraded CM Balum with a CM7777 mounted on a 10' pole off my chimney - it is approx 35' off the ground.

After the transition I did a channel scan on my Samsung at it picked up over 44 digital channels - it was pulling in 3.x, 8.x, 10.x, 13.x, 16.x - must have been an amazing tropo day when I did last scanned.

Yesterday I went up on the roof and tried adjusting the antenna to point directly and the CN tower (I can actually see it from my roof). My wife was at the remote and we simply could not pick up 57.1 - just kept getting weak or no signal. Note when I had it pointed at the CN tower we lost all the Buffalo channels (2.x, 4.1, 7.1, and 29.x). So I gave up and rotated back to where it was pointing south over the lake.

Should I try and stack another 4221hd or maybe move to a 4228HD or even the DB8?

Any thoughts....

Thanks,
Steve

spas, CITY-DT (57.1, RF 44) recently moved back to the CN tower, along with OMNI 1 (47.1, RF 47). For me in Kitchener, at nearly 100km, it's exceptionally strong.

Since you're LOS, my guess is that you may have too much amplification. The CM7777 isn't generally recommended for the GTA.

Have you tested without the preamp?

Steve spas you need to do a complete rescan to delete the old channel assignment for city on channel 53 and scan in the new on 44.Also the rescan will delete omni 2 assignment on 44.On some tvs like panasonic you need to do a complete analog and digital scan to wipe out the old assignments.City changed frequencies September 1st and is much stronger now.

spas - Have you checked to see if your set mapped City-DT to 44.2 instead of 57.1? This is a possibility and is what one of my Sony Bravia's did. This will at least tell you if you are receiving City at all before your try a rescan.

Thanks guys....I tested the channel mapping. When I go to channel 44 to automatically jumps to 57.1.

With my Viewsat hd9000 I deleted all of the channels and did a terrestrial channel scan and guess what - I am getting 57.1 perfectly. However, if I switch to the Samsung's tuner it does not get it?

Does the HD9000 have a better (i.e. more sensitive) ATSC tuner that the built in Samsung tuner?

Actually while on this subject - I also noticed the HD9000 also picks up the program guide for 19.1, 57.1, where as the Samsung does not display any epg for these stations?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve my old samsung boxes do not get any guide data from TVO 19.1 too. They receive City tv fine with full guide. Some tuners lock onto signals with multipath reflections better than others. Not sure why your samsung tuner not getting city tv.

Hi All, I recently built a 4 bay antenna based on Mclapps design available on Digitalhome.ca. I live in Brampton in the 410&Williams pkwy area and with only a cheap 10db amplifier, I'm getting 24 channels (just as arrow201) including the 5 major US networks with excellent signal strength. Surprised to be getting ABC as it is listed on my tvfool report as being 94 miles away which is apparently usually beyond the capability of this size antenna. Very Happy!!!
