: DSR 530 Problem
Hi Fi 2006-01-06, 09:14 PM My DSR 530 doesn"t have the Disk usage metrer working anymore. Also if I want to skip forward 30 seconds or back 10 seconds it will restart the show from the beginning. Its been doing that for a few days. Will that start working again by itself. I don"t have the last upgrade. Thanks.
GaryE 2006-01-06, 10:41 PM Press and hold the power button on the front of the unit for about 5 seconds. That will reboot the unit. If that doesn't work then pull the plug from the wall for a minute or two... hopefully that should fix things for you.

You have problems that, while BC is far from perfect is already fixed and they are making you suffer.
Call and get tough that you want BC.
Don't take NO for an answer.
Tell them you've been at DHC and understand the issues and demand they re-instate BC immediatly.
It's gonna take a month or 2 before any new code to alleviate their fears comes out anyway, so why not at least keep most of your problems at bay in the meantime.

I hope you are prepared for all the responses! Can you tell me if I call and ask for the BC code, will I get it? Also, when can we expect a newer or better version?
WAYNE NEWTON 2006-01-10, 02:55 PM well updates on the 500's are all done yet and it will go to the 530s first then the 505 and the 500, as for the BC Cde yet,ther all in testing but were not aware of when they will be implemented. just make sure u always turn off your recs at night for updating
Wayne, if you are a Star Choice employee then be careful in what you say. Indiscriminate CSR's have lost their jobs or been reprimanded for posting on these forums.
In addition, I have had phone calls from a certain satellite company demanding to know the identities of certain posters on these forums.
I have refused to divulge without a court order but please be wary that if you signed a confidentiality agreement with StarChoice you must abide by it.

Hi Wayne, I have a problem with my color. I have a 530 and just had a factory reset to see if that would help. All the reset did was to lose all my recorded programs. Reds look terrible and so do the greens. I installed a different tv to check it wasn't the tv's fault but the second one had the same color faults. A DVD played ok too. It occurs no matter which connection I us. ie; coax, component, DVI supervideo etc so it is not a loose or poor commection. This problem occured about a week after after the BC download. The picture is quite viewable but the greens and red are pukey. Any ideas on this one and I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this problem?

Greven 2006-01-11, 03:25 AM If you have factory reset, swapped cables, and tried different TV's, call and get it replaced, its clearly defective and should fall under your 1 year warranty.

classicsat 2009-12-17, 09:11 AM Not directly. You need to run a second coax from the dish or multiswitch. To get HD, you need an elliptical dish and appropriate dual look LNBF.
