As a New Year gift for Hugh, in appreciation of him busting his A$$ to keep this site up and running, and providing degenerates such as myself with a daily fix of geek-speak, I'd like all of us who feel likewise to send Hugh a little gift ($5 via certapay (http://www.certapay.com/en/) maybe?) to hugh at digitalhomecanada.com (hugh@digitalhomecanada.com) (at least, I think/hope that's what his email address is).

It's not too much for any one of us, but if even 25 of us chip in, that lets Hugh take Mrs. DHC out for dinner and to enjoy a nice bottle of port on us.....It's a very small price for each of us to pay for what we all enjoy and learn from this site.

Once again, Hugh....major THANK YOU!!

Happy 2006!

Thanks Nuje.

FYI to all - and I will post a longer note later this week - DHC will continue in 2006.

Until about Mid-November, it looked like the site would shut down today but we had some late year advertisers come on board, Intel, Rogers, Chrysler and Energizer that gave me hope.

In December, DHC served up about 4 million page views to over 200,000 unique visitors. On any given day the Digital Forums are visited by about 1,200 members and the whole site is visited by about 25,000 visitors.

My goal for 2006 is to increase traffic numbers by 50 to 100% and hopefully increase advertising dollars by 100 to 150%.

Although I appreciate and welcome money, you could support this site even more by sending email to companies like Panasonic, Sony, Samsung etc, telling them you bought their products after reading and discussing them on DHC or by simply following some of those advertisers links.

If companies realize that Canadian consumers are visiting this site before buying then hopefully we'll get high quality advertisers with quality ads.

If advertising increases, then my goals is to hire freelance writers in order to provide readers with more content and more features.

People ask me, why not sell stuff from your site? The reality is that I don't have the time. (although any business' wishing to partner with DHC can contact me to discuss) Right now my focus is on content !

CHeers,
Hugh
2006 represents a critical year for Digital Home Canada so I thank you all for visiting

Wow, Hugh .... I had no idea that this site was close to extinction. That would have been terrible. I may not participate much, but the information I have read on this site has helped me immensely, as it has countless others. I will definitely send an email to Toshiba!

Dear Sir,

I like to take to the time to inform you that it has been six months since I purchased my Sony KF42WE620 TV and I have very happy with my purchase since that time. I would like to inform you that I decided on the Sony only after reading the Sony discussion forums at www.digitalhomecanada.com. I have recently learned that the website and forums were at risk of shutting down at year's end until advertisers such as Intel, Rogers, Chrysler and Energizer began advertising on the site. I believe that Sony Canada should also consider advertising on this website.

In December, Digital Home Canada served up about 4 million page views to over 200,000 unique visitors. On any given day the Digital Forums are visited by about 1,200 members and the whole site is visited by about 25,000 visitors.

Thank you for taking the time to read my e-mail and I ask you to take a few minutes and browse www.digitalhomecanada.com and the sony discussion forum: http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18 and see that your advertising dollar could go further by sponsoring this very fine Canadian website.

I do not work for or am in anyways related to the Digital Home Canada website, however I am a regular visitor and forum member. I appreciate the content and discussions that are found there and we hate to see this valuable resource disappear.

According to the website: http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=80 you can contact Hugh Thompson at (905) 919-0356 for more information.
