I ordered my HDPVR from Rogers over the phone on Tue Dec 27th. Took advantage of the free 6 mths offer from Future Shop. How long should it take to get it by courier , I'm getting impatient ;)

It shouldn't take long. If you don't get it by Monday, I'd give them a call, they may have "lost" your order, although this is a busy time of year.

If you are close to a Rogers outlet, why not go there to pick it up (make sure they have the model you want.

Due to the holidays it could take up to 14 days.

I wish I had requested to pick it up at Rogers in the first place, at this point I'll wait till Monday then call and see whats up.

Rogers may not let you go for the pick-up option. When I ordered my 8300HD PVR (the 6 month free offer) I asked to pick it up at a nearby Rogers store, but they said they could not do it as this is a free offer and the PVR could only be sent via a courier, blah blah. So I had to wait for the shipment, which took only 2 business days (ordered on saturday, and got it from UPS on tuesday), but again, that was back in november, not a busy time as of now.

Yeah, they wouldn't let me pick it up either in Toronto.
I ordered on a Friday and it arrived Wednesday.

I wanted HD right away after getting my hdtv and I didn't want Rogers getting in the way of me seeing hd right away so I called them to ask about pickup.

I too was told I couldn't pick it up. Even after I mentioned that I had to go to the store anyway to return my 8300SD. We went back and forth and finally they agreed I could pick it up. I suggest trying a couple of times with different CSRs. If the store is close by, you don't have anything to lose by asking in person.

Wohooo ! Just got my HDPVR today and yes it is the 8300 model !
Loving the HD ! For some reason, I also get TSNHD, I thought that was an extra $5 or is that part of my free HDPVR 6mths promo ?

Yes, with that offer, you also get 6 months free HDTV specialty programming, which includes TSN HD, Discovery HD, and timeshifting

I opted for the non PVR HD terminal with my new Plasma I bought on Christmas Eve. This is mainly cause I want free HDTV during the World Cup in June :D.

I ordered the Box on the 24th of December, and got it today. However, I seem to be only getting Raptors TV HD (looks AMAZING) and PBS HD. The rest of the HD channels (ie: Sportsnet, CTV) are "NOT AUTHORIZED."

Should I call up Rogers? Or am I doing something wrong?

I had a similar problem and could not even get the normal channels from 03 and up. I had to call them and they had me unplug receiver , they did something from their end and then it was ok.

Best to call.

You should get almost all of the 5xx HD channels with that free offer, so if I were you, I would call Rogers right away.

Question;
I bought my HDTV from Future Shop and got the free 12 month (non-PVR) deal.
I get all the usual networks in HD but I don't get the west feeds or TSNHD or Discovery HD. Was I supposed to get those free for 6 months? I'm only asking after what I have read in this topic.
If not, are those channels worth paying for (I wouldn't watch TSN very often, but DiscoveryHD sounds ok)? I do get the non-HD versions of these channels already so it would be $5 extra/month.
Thanks.

Are you sure it is 12 months? Should be 10 unless they changed the offer.

You should get TSNHD and DSCHD, the same free period as your terminal. Just call Rogers to get them.

Once you get these channels you should be able to decide if they are worth paying for after the free period. For me, just for the timeshifting I would like to pay for the $5/mo, as I watch a lot of primetime shows, and some of them are in the same timeslot (different networks).
