Just curious how far my $9.95 goes, or if I should just do down to the pub.

THanks!

No, they are not. I inquired about this with the Canucks media people before the season started and they said at this time its cost prohibitive for them to broadcast in HD. I'm sure in a year or two the HD production trucks will be significantly less and they might even have one permanently in GM Place.

I can't see myself paying 10 bucks a game for HD let alone SD.
I'd rather listen to Shorthouse on CKNW than the pay per view cash grab.

There aren't any commercials so $9.95 isn't really a cash grab. It's a hell of allot cheaper than going to a game.:)

Not 100% true There are no TV adds. But there are still commerical time outs and the Game Audio is CKNW and though they do not play the adds some get in there like McDonalds. Still though 9.95 for 3 hrs of entertainment for a game that would not be on TV at all if not for PPV....not bad.

But there are still commerical time outs...

Timeouts are needed for other broadcasters. Even the games that are PPV in Vancouver are often available in the other teams' home market on free tv. Thus, the need to for commercial time outs.

Plus, if you buy the whole package each year like I do its not $9.95 a game. I think I paid $139 for 18 games this year.

If you compare it to other forms of entertainment like movie theaters it's cheaper and you don't have to sit through 30 min of commercials. If PPV was in HD it would be even more worth it at that price.

Yes but if you bought the NFL package on satellite you would get EVERY game for only a few $$ more....

Shaw stinks.

What in the world is that supposed to mean? If I want to be able to watch every Canucks game I should buy NFL Sunday Ticket? Stay on topic.

Have you been watching the Nucks lately? $9.95 is a rip off watching a bunch of heartless, no depth on D, poor goal tending premadonas.

As has been discussed in the past local blackouts apply to center ice, so if you live in a PPV area you would not get the game "free".

Just wondering if anyone else had the video dropouts during last night's Stars/Nucks game? It cleared up by the third period but was annoying. Has anyone complained to Shaw about this before and if so what was the response?

I didn't see the game the other night, but I complained to Shaw about horrible quality on one of the PPVs in the past and received a full credit for the game. For $9.95 its worth a quick rant on their website.
