XM will be by March of this year broadcasting at least two of their channels in HD 5.1 surround sound:

Isn't that just in the U.S.? Is there any information that indicates these channels will also be in Canada?

(I am a complete ignoramus about satellite radio -- the only reason I would be the least interested is 5.1 sound. So please forgive a stupid post, if it is!)

Both of those channels are included in the Canadian service, so we should get the enhancement as well. I assume some new gear will be needed, though as my SkyFi2 radio doesn't have anything in the way of optical connections or anything else that leads me to believe it can process anyhting more than 2 channels of audio.
