I have recently bought a Samsung 6178W (1080p). I have been following some discussion threads about the AV Synchronization delays (Lip sync) when viewing some content on this TV - especially when hooked up via an external receiver. I havent noticed any delays or lip sync problems so far through the built in speakers. I am going to buy an external receiver and speakers very soon - and would like to have the option of introducing AV sycnhronization delay via the receiver in case I get this problem. I have narrowed my search down to an Integra DTR 5.5 and KEF KHT speakers. I would like to know if anyone has an experience with this combination. Also if the Integra receiver has this AV synchronization/ delay capability.

Vetal,

You should surf over to www.avsforum.com and check out the recievers section. There is extensive discussion on this topic and Integra (Onkyo) recievers. Good l

.......afaik the Integra products should have the A/V sync adjustment.....i know the top products in the Integra line have it. Just go to the Integra website and D/L the manual for that model...you will find the info there definitely.

Thanks for your replies guys - the dealer confirmed that the Integra DTR 5.6 (2005 model) does indeed have A/V synchronization capabilities - allowing for a time delay of upto 150 ms in 1 ms increments. The older DTR 5.5 did not have this capability.
I went ahead and purchased the Integra + KEF speaker combination and it sounds fantastic. Really crisp lively sound - it brought Star Wars alive in ways I could have only dreamed of :D
