Yes, and oddly they're on different channel numbers than Ontario. In Ontario OMNI.1 is channel 101 and OMNI.2 is channel 102. I wonder if they're planning to put the HD versions in on 92 and 94 respectively and changing the channel positions in Ontario to match. This would at least free up 2 spaces in the low 100s for network VOD channels I suppose.

As I have been checking through the channels i see that 438, 484, and 485 are new too. They are all listed as TBA. Channel 559 is also new too listed as Adult Preview.

But where is TCM?

Yes, The Toronto channel lineup on the Rogers website as of today says that channels 483, 484 and 485 are going to be HD NCAA/NHL/MLB channels. The Adult Preview channel on 599 has been on in Fredericton, NB for a couple weeks now (because I have it lol) and I heard that TCM is coming soon (maybe January) The rest of ROD should be in NB by January too apparently.

As far as I am told (by reliable source most of the times :)), as soon as the negotiations are through, it won't take long for TCM to appear. There is a lot of competition for it so ROGERS has to get in as quick as possible. The exact date is really unknown. They don't always test channels. I can't recall which one it was but one day, POOF! there it was, a new channel. It would be nice before the end of THIS year....

I think they are just restoring the SD feeds of Omnis 1 & 2. We had them ages ago, but they removed them when they gave us the Omnis in HD. Probably got too many complaints from people having to rent an HD terminal to get those channels.

I'm sure this was totally un-related.. but watching CNN this afternoon.. for the first time in my recent memory.. in one of the ad slots that Rogers normally takes to try to sell something .. there was an ad for Turner Classic Movies.

I know it was probably just a Turner Property promoting a Turner Property... but still I got all excited for a second till I realized that.

I've never seen a TCM ad on CNN....TBS maybe but not CNN. Was the ad about TCM Canada? I think that's what they call it for us folks.

Nope.. It was on CNN 25 on Saturday.

Specifically,iIt was an ad for a program hosted by Peter Bogdanovich... called "The Essentials" - which highlights movies that "define what it means to be a classic". He introduces the movie and then speaks again about it's importance at the end.

And it merely said "On Turner Classic Movies.. " ... as a tag out.

I noticed these channels are now labelled same as the Toronto lineup. Are these active? I presume you need to first be subscribed to the SportsPaks, which I don't have (yet).

My question is, will there be any other NHL HD games other than what we already get via TSNHD, & CBCHD on Saturday nights? What American network is presently showing NHL in HD? Will these HD games be shown on this channel?

Edit: I've since determined NHL is showing on HDNet & OLN-HD, maybe others. I'm still curious what's going to show on this channel...

I wrote Rogers some time ago and they said they were "working to add TCM" and hoped to announce it soon.

I believe the negotiations are internal right now. Something along the lines of, let's add TCM to our Rogers Ontario lineup ASAP but before that we need another bush league answer for Atlantic Canada about how they'll get it soon for one reason or another.

How about TNT anything on that? Or will we be doing good to just get TCM? Pretty soon 'TCM' will be the next "corner topic", hope you have a large room. :eek:

I called 2 days ago about my bill asking how much more I was going to pay after March 1st and while on the line with the person helping me, I mentioned the TCM and MPIXHD and she told me they had just gotten a new bulletin about TCM that morning. The negotiations were very promising and the only thing they were allowed to say was....hold it....wait for it....coming very soon. :o As for MPIXHD, it should be in NB before easter!

Now don't go on holding your breath....we have all heard these "facts" before and that is why we have a corner full of bad people and their dual tuner questions. Ahhh darn...I'll never learn....

One room is enough for now I agree. But if we talk about something else that corner will eventually reduce to only you.(haha) Just kidding. It's fun and it keeps my wife in stitches, she has been reading along with the corner story and loves every minute of it.

As for TCM and MPIXHD it will be nice to see them but if I hold my breath that long, I'd end up looking like a smurf. :cool: So I will wait until it gets here. As for anything else is there any hot dogs left on the grill in the other room?

Don't expect TNT anytime soon. It's not on the CRTC's approved list.

Even if TNT was approved, much of the programming would have to be blacked out. Alot of the shows they have, (like Law and Order reruns) have the Canadian rights sold to CHUM, Atlantis, etc.
