I think that this is a great addition for the holiday season.

Its cute. I'm finding the MaxTrax/Galaxie Holiday channels alot more useful though, I've been listening to 929 constantly the last 2 days!

Is this the same Yule log used on WPIX 11 NYC on XMAS day, or a nice piece of Canadian Softwood Lumber?

It thought it was HARDWOOD, since it never seems to burn down and you never see anybody "put another log on the fire".

I heard it was a 6 minute loop.

Now if we could only mix and match the firelog video and mix in some MaxTrax Christmas tunes, we'd have it made in the shade.

It needs a nice piece of yellow birch on there, christmas tunes mixed in, nice white rug in front of the fire, with a lovely lady and a bottle of wine...then they could sell subs to it :)

It's a nice idea, but man does it make my TV screen hot!

It's a joke. There are nothing but complaints about SC always adding CTV and Global feeds and that they are not providing some very good/unique channels available on ExpressVu (e.g. bpm:tv, Cool TV, Drive-In Classics, Much More Retro, etc.). You also hear the complaints about lack of HD content. They add some ludicrous firelog feed and everyone has nothing but good things to say. It's a complete waste.

Actually, I think you're the only one that continually has negative things to say about Star Choice.

The fire log is fun. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not meant as a replacement for any other channel. If you don't like the pace at which Star Choice is adding channels, then leave.

What about TCM, MSNBC, and the Military Channel? None of those are available on Bell, why doesn't Star Choice get credit for those?

Take alook at this thread (http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33967), there are plenty of people happy with Star Choice's HD free offerings.

If you feel the grass truly is greener on the other side, then by all means jump the fence.

I think it's funny. They're just using the NHL PPV station for this when there are no games on. It's not like they added a new station just for this.

It is a nice, harmless touch. Happy Holidays!

You could, with two recevers, or record the 6 minute loop to DVD and play the audio channel for the SC receiver.

I have both BEV and SC right now so there is really no place to jump. Rogers would be an ideal choice but they no longer operate TV in Alberta.

It's not a matter of giving credit, not giving credit, etc. Mine was solely a legitimate critique of this "fireplace channel" and that efforts could be better directed elsewhere.

Sure, there are plenty of people happy with it but from reading the posts on this forum, I'm sure you would agree that there are a lot more people that have been unhappy with it.

Great for the holidays. Thanks Starchoice for T.C.M. Turner Classic Movies as well. Great Service. We need more positive and praise in the world.

i think everyone has a right to their own opinion. i'm sure there are pros and cons to both bell and starchoice. if someone is upset with one or the other they should complain. if everyone who was upset left the company would be gone. i never encourage people to leave. it is not the solution. the solution should be to try to please everyone as much as you can. maybe in time starchoice will please us, but don't hold your breath. their gears tend to turn very slowly.

Good comments, Kevin270. You are right. You need to complain to solicit change. Specifically, as a paying customer, you should have a right to have a say in what you want to see. Bailing, in this context as well as many others, solves nothing. It's an easy solution for many but the rewards for loyalty are far greater.
