hi everyone with the addition of the new channels and preview of espically CBN i was wondering if with a model 3100 receiver i'd be able to view the free preview or even the channel

It comes in fine on my 3100; channel 730. Free preview until February 18th.

Something I assumed seeing as you posted in this thread- do you have your receiver set to pick up Nimiq 2? (The "82" bird.)

Because that channel is there.

I can't see any of the free previews with my 3100.
How do I set it up to see Nimiq 2?

Hey Ken i think your right , but everytime i try to change it , it doesn't quite change from 91 ,i'm not sure if the fact i'm from toronto has anything to do with that ..

For both of you guys- you need a 2nd LNB to be able to tune in channels from 82. "82" is another spacecraft up in the sky, so your dish has to be aimed to see both of the "birds."

Examples 3&4 from this thread (http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26721) will give you an idea of what I am talking about.

Bell can sell you an upgrade kit, or you get one when you buy a 6120 or a 9200/9220 receiver.

I'm very sure that won't be happening.Only a small portion of the sub's have Nimiq 2.

BTW nimiq 4 isn't due for about a year now, so don't expect it anytime soon.

And the Rtv I believe would be the new Russian channels that are out, but not 100% sure.

Last thing, NDTV , Carribean and ARY are all out.

Actually, Nimiq 4i is currently in place and I believe providing service.

Nimiq 4, which if I remember correctly is currently being built by EADS Astrium and probably set for launc sometime in 07 or 08

Acccording to LyngSat SatTracker, Nimiq 4i is at 91.1°W, so it not currently transmitting signals.

Nimiq 4i has been in service since January. It replaced Nimiq 3 at 92°. Nimiq 3 was moved to 82° and has been in service there for some time.

Ya but the one that is there now it not the official nimiq 4, it is just a rented satelite for a little while. They will be launching a whole new one in one or 2 years.

Perhaps BEV should focus on less channels, especially HD ones and focus more on improving their compression rate. Some channels are just awful.
