I flipped over to Canada 360 on the drive home today (around 5pm PST), and I was very amused to hear chipmunks giving the news. Obviously, they are having problems with their taped programming.

On the compression side, it sounds terrible...just as bad as the traffic channels. The french news channel isn't any better. The music channels aren't as bad as I thought they would be, same with the comedy channel.

All the other Canadian XM channels are very good but Canada 360 and Quoi de Neuf are very dissapointing. The Canadian service has dropped CNN Headline News (it still has CNN) and replaced it with Canada 360. The bandwidth given to this channal is less than marginal and the news updates are infrequent. I realize this maybe the early days of Canada 360 but I can only listen to it for a few minutes before I switch back to CNN :rolleyes:

Yeah I was disappointed with Canada 360 as well. I hope this is just the start of this news programming and over time they will improve and be the same or better calibre of CBC or BBC programming. I like radio docs myself where I could learn about my Country.

The slow and mono tone voice of the newscasters is almost enough to put me to sleep.

I think Canada 360 is sounding a wee bit better over the last few days...wonder if they have increased the bandwidth:)

The audio quality was much better, then around noon on the 24th it became very poor again:confused:

Actually, Canada 360 is not that bad when I am traveling in the USA. I am down in Tucson, AZ, for business and it is great getting a few minutes of Canadian news :cool:
