Great value in this series. Not all titles will appeal, but there's lots of good ones, and you get commentaries, documentaries, excellent video quality, high bit-rate encoding... all at quite attractive pricing.

A general comment on Sunrise: at the outset, Fox made it available only as part of a mail-in promotion -- buy 3 Studio Classics, get Sunrise free. That's how I got my copy. These days you can find it in-store or on-line at select retailers, but only in a package, grouped with 3 other SC titles. I have yet to see it offered for sale (in R1) as a separate title. If you do find it, grab hold. There is no number on the spine, just sez "limited edition". Sunrise is truly one of the great movies of all time.

Also, I think I read somewhere that the original edition of The Mark Of Zorro (#12), might be discontinued now. Completists might want to pick one up, just in case.

Brad, Sunrise is part of a small boxset, which includes:

Spine #0 - Sunrise
Spine #1 - All About Eve
Spine #2 - Gentlemans Agreement
Spine #3 - How Green Was My Valley

That's how I got my copy. I believe the last 3 titles (35-37) on the list come out this Tuesday.

James, my copy sez "limited edition" in lieu of a spine number. Does your copy have a #0 on it?!

From DVDBeaver, a look at the three new ones:

Orchestra Wives (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDReviews18/orchestra_wives_dvd_review.htm)

The Rains Came (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDReviews18/the_rains_came_dvd_review.htm)

Two For The Road (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDReviews18/two_for_the_road_dvd_review.htm)

Well, I know I want two of these fer sure... all three if Wal-Mart puts them in the $8.66 rack.

My local Wal-mart pulled their display of Studio Classics just before Christmas and seems to have gone all sour on them. Any time I go in there, I see one maybe two titles and that's it.
