Since I started using TalkBroadband with the DVG-1120, web pages will very frequently fail to load. Sometimes refreshing or attempting to bring up a web page again will work, and sometimes not. This problem did not occur before I installed the gateway. I have the gateway set-up as per the manual (cable modem connected to the gateway connected to the computer). If I connect the cable modem directly to the computer, everything works fine again.
Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts.

I'd recommend posting your issue on the MyTBB portal. There's far more expertise there to assist.

XAX, I never found the TBB portal much help.
My recommendation is to phone tech support when it happens and if you do please let us know the results.

Hugh,
The few times you posted on the portal (before you cancelled your TBB service), people asked you specific questions, or gave specific instructions, and I can only find one instance where you responded with further information. In that case you seemed to conclude that the problem was with Rogers, but you never reported back as to how their repairs/upgrades went. I'd have to go back and look more closely at your posts, but for all your complaints regarding Primus (particularly their customer service and tech support) it seems that you never gave the portal users a chance to try and help.
I realize completely that you've got your own discussion forum to run, and I have no doubt that it takes up much of your time. But considering that you barely gave the MyTBB portal a chance (11 posts in , I find it astonishing that you knock it here.
I don't take issue with your complaints regarding Primus customer service and tech support (particularly customer service--fortunately I don't deal with them for the most part, only tech support). Your experience is your experience. But you seem to forget that the Primus portal is not a technical support forum. It is a forum for Primus TBB users to discuss the service. Every now and then Primus employees post relevant items. But it has never been a source of Primus-based technical support any more than the DHC Primus forum is.
XAX, I still recommend you post your question on the Portal. Your problem sounds solvable--however, it's beyond my expertise to handle here (and everyone else is over there).

I've used the Primus portal a few times, and even though I have checked off the send replies to my email check-box, I never receive emails when someone posts a reply. It's difficult to even find which thread I posted my question in, and often I lose the conversation due to the time it takes to drill down through everything to get to what I want.
Is there an easier way to use that forum? I like the Digital Home Canada forum because it emails me when there is a posting, and it's easy to find stuff. It could be that I just need to know the magic touch to the TBB forum.

There is a known bug that Primus has not addressed to date in that only the original author of a thread will get an e-mail reply. That's why checking off the notify me of replies box doesn't send you anything.

The easiest way is to go to the User Preferences link at the bottom of most forum pages, and choose 'Subscriptions' from the tabs across the top of the menu. In there you'll see the threads in which you've posted.
The Primus FAQ does have further details on this (see my .sig for the link).

Thanks Steve. You are a good help. You've helped me on that forum too a couple of times.

I had the same technical issue with web pages failing to load. I never got the problem solved but when i moved the 1120 behind my Wireless router and let my router do the DHCP and PPPoE everything worked fine. I found the 1120 constantly dropped my connection and the sound quality of calls was superior when set up behind the router with QoS activated (strangely enough).
