Hi,

I am using YAK worldcity voip. Service is great except one minor glitch. My Mediatrix 2102 DVC keeps restarting almost every 7 to 8 hours.

DVC is plugged in directly to DSL modem (Sympatico). My computer is connected to DVC for internet access. So when DVC restarts it takes about 1 minute to everything come back online.

I am wondering if anyone else having same problem.

Thanks,
voip

Im also using Yak, but never have experienced what you are speaking of. But last month when I had issues with not being able to send/recieve calls, they had to upgrade the firmware on my DVC unit. Perhaps you need to do so aswell.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for you input.

Could you please post version info from your DVC web interface? Are you using Sympatico?

Thanks.

My Yak DVC:
System description: Mediatrix 2102 v5.0.7.59 SIP MIB 1.5.3.40 Profile YK-S5000-04-R

I was using Rogers Express (3MBPS) for awhile up until reciently I've switched to 3web (5.0MBPS because 3web is a hell of a lot cheaper). $9.99 for the first 3 months. $29.99/month there after. No Contract. No Caps.

Here is info about my DVC:

Software version: 4.5.7.60
Hardware version: 6
System description: Mediatrix 2102 v4.5.7.60 SIP MIB 1.5.2.20 Profile YK-S4500-03
System uptime: 0:7:46:28
Registration status port1: Ready

As you can see System uptime is approaching towards 8 hours. Once it reaches close to 8 hours, my DVC would download config file from YAK's server and restart by itself.

Thanks.

Have you spoken to Yak CS? When my firmware was upgraded they did it from their end.

djino,

thanks for posting info constantly.

yes i am in contact with YAK csr. Yak has already replaced my DVC. This is the new device with old firmware. I found info for my old DVC and that matches with your dvc's info. With that firmware dvc was restaring every 24 hrs.

Could you please publish your update time from DVC web interface? That would be great. Lets see how many days your dvc is up for.

Thanks.

djino,

It means your device restarted 2 days and 12 hours ago. Looks like common issue with YAK dvc. In reality if it had never restarted then "days" number should be really high but as it says "2" which means for some reason dvc restarted. Either manually by user or by itself.

I am still with old firmware and it keeps restarting almost every 8 hours. YAK says that dvc downloads config file every 8 hours. I have noticed same uptime with new firmware on my previous dvc.

Lets see if YAK could fix it because when I am online and dvc does restart, I lose internet connection to my computer.

Thanks for you input djino.

well I know a few days ago I manually restarted it because I was having issues with my linksys router. But even so, I suppose you could be right, I just haven't really experienced any known restarts of the DVC. Not anything to effect service.

System uptime: 2:23:10:14

Its still up and going here.. almost 3 Days. I'll keep you posted.

I was away for a long time and couldn't access my dvc. Looks like YAK has made changes to dvc. My device is up for 25:16:27:26 which means it is up for more than 25 days..... wooooooooo!!!!!

My device is having the same issue. However, last time I called tech support they couldn't find my account in their files!!! How does one access the "uptime" data and find out their firmware version? I can't even log into my portal.. It doesn't seem to recognize my account at all!

the dvc ip should be 192.168.10.1 ...the default user/pass = admin/1234
