I get the freezing on Global simsubs as well ( last week on House) as both CTV-HD feeds.

I noticed that my 6100 also shows now as E562, so I'll have to check to see if it's any better on all 3 channels now .

Not holding out much hope for this getting cleared up on my 6000 tho.

So, now it's acutally worse than it was before on the issue of choppy movement on-screen. Last night's feed of House on Global was painful to watch.

I just got off the phone with an EVU rep who advised me that since I have been having this problem for over 30 days, I can call in tonight if it happens again to have the simsub halted and the native US feed put back for me.

He also said that this is a known problem with CTV (he was surprised when I repeated that the problem was also on Global) and it is being "addressed and looked into".

I haven't heard that line before, so I got his name and agent ID so that when I call tonight when Global gets "out-FOX'd" for BONES, we'll see what happens (or not).

FWIW, I'm on my 3rd new 6100 in about 1.5 months, exact same thing as everyone else. My newest 6100 has the 562 firmware update, but freezing issue is not better, and it also appears that the overall pic quality on the hd channels is worse than brfore, not crystal clear, its grainy, esp on the ctv and global channels. Also kills me this sim sub stuff.....guess I'm calling bell again to complain, see what they will do this time.........think I'm going to press on till I speak to a senior person, time for them to compensate for such a crappy unit!!

Count me in as a member of 6100 freezing club. I have had HD since beginning of October. Wish I had found this thread before signing up. I can't watch any simsubs on CTV as I get freezing every 5 minutes or so. Had to watch SD last night it was so bad. Talked to a csr last week re A&E HD gone missing, another topic, and she admitted this is a known problem. She couldn't offer any solution. Glad I am into my second year of 2 year rental contract. If they don't fix this issue I am gone next November. Does the 9200 have the same problem or just different ones?

I have HD for over a month now. Can't watch CTV HD as the freezing occurs every couple of minutes. Noticed the Global HD had the same problem with HOUSE as stated above.

Oh yeah, I noticed A&E HD disappeared from my guide a couple of days ago as well. I tried to call in to see what's up , but got tried of waiting on line.

I am also having this issue. I don't think it's happening on the SD channels, just the HD. Which sucks cause the HD channels are the reason why I bought the 6100 in the first place. It seems to freeze on CTVHD, (video and audio), and that's the channel that most of the top prime time shows are bdcsted on. If they spent less time screwing around with those two stupid beavers and more time with customer service, this problem wouldn't exist and we'd all be happy as clams. It must be bad cause I had to go through 7 pages of people's issues.

Last month, i was very close in buying this model (6100), but reading this thread prevented me from doing so. It saved me from spending big bucks! Up to now Im still following this thread and it seems to me that there is no fix for this bug. And I don't remember reading any positive post about this particular model.

Finally got real frustrated with bell csr's,got hold o fa tech 3.He had me look at system info,3rd page in menu system info and check dnasp #, said that 2c2 was wrong and should be either 2c7 or 7c4. Told me to turn off reciever for 2 hours and check then. New numbers did not appear then,he had also told me if after waitng didn't work,to try unplugging and replugging in power cord.It seemed to work ,freezing was greatly reduced last night on hd channels, will try again tonight and see if still working.

Well things have gone from bad to worse. Tried to watch hockey game last night. After about 10 freezes in first 1/2 hour I gave up. That now makes CTV,CBC, and Global completely unreliable. Football today should be interesting. Tried unplugging reciver. No luck. Did a hard reset, no luck. Checked previous poster's suggestions and my numbers were the proper ones. May be time to ditch all my Bell products and go somewhere else. The price to break my contract may be worth it. Any suggestions?

I called BEV today and they admitted to me the trouble is known to be at the source, which means the networks and they are working on it. I asked why it took over 8 months to figure this out and why only the 6100 is having trouble... the answer: I don't know.

I doubt it will ever get fixed and it's time to move to Starchoice or cable.

It's not only the 6100, as my 6000 is having identical problems.

Since this is a known issue, what gives them leave to continue to provide these faulty sim-subs ? That the model 9200 owners don't have this issue so then it's ok to continue ?

I may be with you switching providers if this isn't resolved by the new year.

Freezing got to the point today that all HD channels were freezing every 30 seconds. Talked to a level 3 tech and they are now sending a replacement 6100. I was told this wasn't a common problem and that my replacement receiver would correct the problem. I guess I will just plug it in and hope. Got 3 months free HD for my trouble. Gets me closer to the cut off date in my contract.

My Rant. I have been following this thread for months and the only positive outcome is that many other ExpressVu subscribers are having the identical problems with their 6100, and so I have good company here. We all have the same freezing, on the same stations, at the same time, including sim-subs, and yet only we see this, ExpressVu will not acknowledge. I have seen subscribers try out replacement units, generous of ExpressVu but doesnt correct the problem. Lots of attempts to turnoff, and unplug the device, which also doesnt work, or our patience to await a new software version which also doesnt work. My theory, just an experienced guess, is that there is an incompatible mix between the capabilities of the ExpressVu equipment and the requirements for flawless broadcasting of Canadian high definition sources. Evidence for this is the terrific quality of US stations when ExpressVu doesnt replace that feed with their own. All has been reported here over and over again and yet even a "level 3" Tech admits that they have never heard of these problems, let alone a solution. Not believable. My next theory is that ExpressVu does not create their own solutions (software tweeks, etc.) they simply buy a revision or fix from Dish, or wherever, at a point in time that suits them, not us. The 6100 was flawless up to less than a year ago. ExpressVu has really dropped the ball for us, and their inability to communicate a fix or even acknowledge what we are talking about just causes me to Rant. Thank you.

Hi,

I just got BEV on thursday so I'm still in the 10 days legal period to cancel my account. I've tried listening to football today, and man, it was horrible... Freezing every 10-30 seconds for 1 - 1 1/2 seconds on HD... I moved from cable to Dish especially for HD, now it's unwatchable.

Does anyone have currently a good, perfect working 6100?? Does the 9200 has the same issues?

If you could all give me your feedback, just want to know what to ask and say if I call them.

Thanks.

My 9200 defineatly had it on most of the NFL HD channels, the chargers game was the one I was watching most of and it was every 30 seconds or so. Missed alot of big plays due to it...

Ok... so changing the receiver is not an option though... Is it the channel then (all 3 major US channel during football was freezing)?

Is it the receiver? First time in HD, so wandering if it would be the same with others HD distributor?

I just got the 9200 installed a month ago or so.

I am just trying out the PVR function.

I taped an SD movie - no problem.

I have taped 2 HD football games and I get the freezing happening every couple of minutes. The NE - Miami game was nearly unwatchable.

Is the problem in the original broadacst or the PVR?

Mine was freezing while watching the games live.

I have a 9200 and 6100, and the SD->DEN game was freezing momentarily on both receivers, so it must have been something in the feed.

However, I do notice similar freezing of 1/2 second or so watching some prime time shows on the 6100. Very rare though, and doesn't seem to happen on the 9200.

Have been having the same problem with my 9200, both with recorded programs and live. Asked BEV about it, but haven't yet received a reply.
