Why would simsub cause this problem? I feel like there is a bandwidth issue also. I had a more serious problem with rogers though because they have limied bandwidth out to where I am.

I don't think it's bandwith related since when the show start later because of a football game (sunday show like cold case), that show is not simsub. you have the show that start at is regular time on global and the delayed show at CBS with the real signal, you can clearly see and ear the difference !!! When there is no delay due to the football game, the show on both channel is crap !!!

so the bandwith is not the cause of the poor signal... at least from the provider.

I don't remeber having a problem while watching cold case. The worst problem I had was while watching an SD show on a HD channel. Picture was jumpy and voice out of sync. This happened once. Typically there may be a couple of small blips during a show, but nothing to complain about.
I have had a couple of freezes, and waits for guide downloading. As a former long term cable subscriber I had none of these issues with the digital TV form Rogers. The problem that I had with Rogers was that they were charging me the full price for the HD package while only giving me half the channels due to bandwidth issues. Of course they never mentioned this to me when I signed up for the service!

I have a 9200 and the worst channel for me is MC-HD ch 841 the sound cuts out for a fraction of a second just about every 5 minutes, it gets very annoying.

Signal is good...87 green and locked on both 91 & 82
Have run check switch about a 1000 times...I have a sw44
Hard re-boot...memory dump..re-set factory settings...
set dolby digital to pcm only...blah..blah..blah...
You know...the typical scripted tech support you get from BEV.
Always ends up...we'll send you a new *cough* re-worked one out.

I'm sure it's just a string of bad luck I'm running into, but I've been a subscriber for over 8 yrs with BEV, and this is the worst time I've ever had with a new receiver.

I think I'm single handedly keeping Purolator in busness...;)

I usually get the odd freeze on the HD channels. Last night watching Housewives it froze, skipped back a few seconds, then froze completely and started buzzing. I'm getting mid 60's to low 70's on all the 82 transponders. This thing is crap. Glad I only signed up for a one year contract. Do the 9200's have these freezing problems?

Hopefully you can work this out with Bell. It might be usefull to have Bell verify one at a nother location before shipping it to you. It's har to believe that so many could be bad.

That was a BEV signal problem as the same thing happened on my receiver. I had to switch channels back and forth to get it to sync back to the show. Was fine after that.

Occasionally my 6100 freezes but after a sec or two goes back to normal. In addition I get occasional periods of being able to see the menu but no picture or sound. I unplug for a minute or two and when I plug back in it downloads and then I'm back in business.
It reminds me a bit of when Bell was trying to get rid of hackers, I've been wondering if they are trying stuff to clean out the last few hackers, if there are any left.

Well I guys I got fed up and told Bell to send me a new receiver. I received the new REFURBISHED receiver which was full of scratches and looked like it had been dragged behind a truck. I am still getting hd cutting out intermittantly. I am sending this refurb back and keeping my receiver that is 2 months old. This is very frustrating as Bell staff do not know anything. I would not believe Dish Net in the states provides their customers such terrible support.

This seems to be very typical with BEV. I just switched from Rogers about 1 month ago, and although I have more choice now, I can definitely say that satellite seems to be a lot flakier. Other than complete outages on the rare occasion, Rogers was rock solid as far as equipment goes.

UPDATE..

Well I've had my fourth receiver (6100) for about a week now. I get the odd picture pixcilization on HD channels for about a second, then it snaps back ok. No complete lock-ups, or A/V synch problems. Original HD programs look good, and the DD 5.1 sounds great. Over all I'm pleased with it.

@Ed H..

BEV completely switched from their Nagra 1 signal encryption to Nagra 2 in July this year. It rendered all cheater boxes useless. As of yet...the "tester" haven't cracked it...but I sure it's just a matter of time. BEV had such a flood of calls in August for new subscriptions...some had to wait up to 4 weeks for authorization of their legit receiver's. My brother-in-law was one of them.
His wife was NOT happy :(

I heard a rumour that it has been cracked. I had a bout a two week wait in October.
Glad the 4th unit is working better. I think a little bit of pixelation is typical. I have less HD preblems, and more selction with BEV vs. what I had with Rogers.

Can some pleasse explain what a sim sub is? IF poeple are having problems with freezing video on the 6100's, should they just watch the Cdn Channel version. ie Desparate House wives on CTv as opposed to ABC. Or does it matter?
