No freezing with the 6100 but continue to have problem with the info screen coming on during the first hour that the system is on.

I was also watching game on Sunday on CBSHD, I also had freezing, audio would keep playing. I called friend who has a 6100 as well, and he got freezing. Is bell doing anything about this?

The 9200 had huge issues with the simsubbing, it would almost always skip and stutter during the transission, and occasionally jump to the end of the event, or skip a large section, when watching a recorded event. It hasn't been much of an issue over the summer, as the simsubbing seems to have stopped, but I imagine it'll be back once the 'new' TV season fires up.

Watched my PPV recording of Number 23 and it was stuttering frequently enough to bug the piss out of me. So much for this thing going away.

I got mine to go away by cencelling my rental and returning the 6100. Maybe when these new MP4 receivers come out I might consider getting one again but for now I am content with the SD. At least it doesn't freeze.

I just recently reactivated my 6100 for HD service and the CSR told me that software version 564 has fixed all the freezing problems. Well 10 minutes into Prison Break it started again. So much for 564! Granted, it only froze twice for the hour, so that is better than I experienced before, but still unacceptable for a service that you have to pay a premium for!

My 6100 is almost as bad as a year ago. CBSHE is unwatchable. All channels freeze now and then. Where I use to have a 1 sec. freeze but audio would continue I now get a full lock up and no audio for 1 to 10 seconds. Combine this with BEV's HD capacity problems and I am left wondering why I ever signed up in the first place. Thank goodness my contract ends in November.

Watched Numbers last night at 8 on Global. Was not a sim sub as CBS was carrying the show at 10. Multiple small freezes and then a complete lock up just at end of show. Flipped to SD version so as not to miss the conclusion. Interestingly didn't notice much or any difference in picture quality. Continued on with Global and Las Vegas. Less freezing although some. At very end of 1st hour another massive freeze and a skip in story line. Back to SD to find out what happened. Checked NBC and the second hour of Las Vegas was NOT sim subbed and worked perfectly. What is it with Global HD and BEV? Is anyone else noticing a large increase in freezing in last couple of weeks? It is even happening on commercials. At one point my wife turns to me and says "even I have had enough of this, get rid of BEV". I had really hoped we had put this behind us. Guess I was wrong.

Watched Numbers also at eight but on the 9200. Program had one major glitch about half way through....other than that it was okay.
Do not think it is a problem with Evu but with Global as it looked like the tape just stopped. Considerable differance in the picture quality between HD and SD on 65 inch screen. As stated before have no freezing problems with the 6100 used upstairs.

I called BEV from work the other day to complain about freezing. BEV tech support said they couldn’t do much from their end and suggested that I call them back when I got home.

I’ve had every intention of calling back, but the freezing seems to have stopped? I’m just curious, but what can they do from their end that would have fixed the problem?

My 6100 freezes constantly on all the HD channels all the time. Latest firmware.

Calling BEV tomorrow about it. I'll post back what they say.

Last night got constant freezing on Global. Watched ABCHE at 10 and not one freeze. For me Global and CBSHE are the worst but all HD channels exhibit it at some time or another. BEV has no idea how to fix this. I have had a replacement 6100 and gone down the entire reboot, reset deal that they always take you through. Bottom line is for a lot of us the 6100 does not work properly. Good luck with talking to them but my experience is you are wasting your time. You either live with it or find another provider.

I have a 6100 that was "freezing" way too much and after lots of calls to Techs within Express Vu and a call to an Echostar representative I met while at Express Vu a couple of years ago I was given a suggestion.

If using an SW44, ensure that the RG6 feeding Port #1 on the Switch (the one with the Power Inserter) is NOT feeding an HD Tuner, if you have an SD receiver use that RG6 to feed Power to the SW44. This involved in my case swinging a connection at the switch and installing the Power Inserter at the rear of my 5900.

After following this advice my "Freezing" dropped by around 95%, it became acceptable.

I informed all my Technicians of this course of action and it really did seem to work on Service Calls where "freezing" was the reason for the call and an SW44 was installed.

I have lived with the "freezing" since that time, until I decided to take the plunge and get rid of my Legacy LNBF's and Switch's and go over to Dish Pro Plus Equipment.

OK, I must add that none of this equipment is supported by Express Vu so I retain all my Legacy Equipment just in case Express Vu remove DP / DPP from future Firmware updates.

I now run DP LNBF's, feeding a pair of DPP44's, my 9200, has not as yet exhibited the "jump to live bug", my 6100 has NOT shown any "freezing"....My 5200, 5900, 3200 and 3100 have all worked flawlessly......

In closing, is DP /DPP the answer, well I would have to say a resounding YES.......

My belief is that the 6100 and 9200 in particular NEED DP /DPP to function correctly.

I could be wrong but my own experiment seems to be conclusive, so far.

OK so if this is the answer what should the average guy do? Obviously ExpressVu won't supply the DP/DPP equipment. Where do you get that and who do you get to install it? The real question I guess is why should I have to go to all this trouble to get their equipment to function correctly? I pay them for the service. This is not a criticism of you Nimiq but of BEV itself. This freezing issue has been discussed here for 3 years now. Surely more than enough time for them to fix it, if they had any intention to do so. While I appreciate that you seem to have come up with an answer to this problem the fact that BEV continues to supply faulty equipment speaks volumes about their concern for their customers. They don't care!

I have, of course, passed my findings along to Express Vu but as usual, they are in denial.....

I am currently bringing DP / DPP products into Canada for our VIP installations and Commercial installations only.

I can only suggest E-Bay etc as a source.

As for installation, it is not really that difficult to just exchange pieces of an existing setup. Dish access might not be the easiest of course.

Remember, not all installers understand DP / DPP, therefore you may have to shop around.

Thanks for the info Nimiq. As I rent my equipment and the 2 year term ends at the end of November the easiest and best solution for me is to find another provider. My last headache with BEV will be dealing with their retention department when I call to cancel. As I never got all my credits when I originally signed up I won't be believing anything they offer to keep me. If they offer anything.

Hell I work for them and they still owe me my free PPV movies from my sign up, way back.....lol

Well there's been no new postings here for a while, I guess everyone is working okay now. Mine has not froze for some time now. Look's link BEV finally fixed it?

Anyone else still have troubles? Just curious...

:cool:I have used it quite a bit last week and haven't noticed any freezing.
