This is mostly for JohnnyG, but anyone who owns one of these, feel free to respond.

Johnny, I noticed that you have this player for sale on your site, the DM-RE20 I believe, and I was wondering if you've had the opportunity to try one out, and if you have, what are your thought on it.

I most likely won't buy this one, but I will most likely buy the next version of it.

I'm just wondering how good this player is.

Anyone else?

Norm

I haven't tried one out yet, but I'm starting to get very curious. Another major vendor will probably jump into the recordable DVD fray this week so I'll wait to see how their offering differs before I decide which to show in the store.

The Panasonic player has MSRP of $1500 US. JohnnyG has it on his site for $1700 CAN. I'll probably wait until this years model is released, but I was just wondering how well it works.

Hopefully someon who owns one will show up here and give us his or her opinions.

From TWICE:

Toshiba also was showing the RD-2000 rewritable DVD player. The device is a combination DVD-RAM and PVR and is now on sale in Japan and expected to ship in the United States later this year. Japanese and U.S. pricing were not available. The RD-2000 has an 80GB hard drive and features time slip. The feature set may change on the final U.S. version.
