Aside from running the video through a DVD recorder, is there anyway to pull video off of the PVR, i.e. the USB port?

 I just bought a 9220 system today. Could not buy the 9200 by itself. The box had a Bell sticker on it instructing the retailer (A&B SOUND) to only sell the system to Existing customers. There was a 9200 sticker placed over each 9220 sticker on the box. This all seems very strange.

What do you mean about encrypted? I have not opened the 9200 (9220) box yet. Are you guys saying that you can't record programs from the hard drive to a DVD recorder or a VHS tape? If this is the case then I am taking it back and will get a Sony RDR-H715 DVD RECORDER with the hard drive.

One other question for a current 9200 owner. Can you confirm on screen or in the 9200 manual.....what type of signal can be output from the component output. Is it the same as the 6100 (1080i, 720P, 480P, this is my understanding about the 6100) component output. I was hoping to be able to make dvd's from the 9200 component output (hoping it outputs from the tuner and the HD) connected to the Sony 715 component input. I do not yet know if the Sony component input will accept a 480P signal (maybe not). This is all very frustrating and I can't believe or understand the reason for no S-Video output on the 9200. If they want to block and stop us from having a copy of anything .......then I may just quit BELL or any other provider that feels that this is the type of service I will pay for.

Thanks

No one is going to make it easy to record HD out to any other media. The industry is doing all it can to prevent this. If you buy a DVD recorder it will only record in SD, and you will find programming a lot harder.
