Greetings all and thank you for taking the time to read this...
I have the above television and it has been tremendous for the past 2 years. While my wife and daughter were watching today...the picture quit and the power light on the front began flashing on and off.
No "POP", no crackles, no smoke, no nothing. It just "turned off".
No picture comes through from any other device (PS2, cable, VCR, DVD player). Pressing the power button on the remote stalls the power light in the "on" position, but it quickly resumes flashing. None of the front buttons have any effect on the set.
ANY assistance that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for your time.

Try unplugging the TV for a while and plug it back in. Sometimes this will "reset" it. If not, time to call service.

IF there are a regular number of flashes, this is sometimes a service code that's of use to the service personnel.

Thank you for taking the time to answer! I did try your suggestion without success. The flashes are regular.

Once again, my thanks.

There are 6 or 7 microfuses (small rectangular fuselinlks). Measure these to see if any one is open (should measure .3-.6 ohms) and also change the convergence amplifiers(STK392110/120/150). The conv. amps. if blown can cause one of the microfuses to open and the TV will not turn on. If the micros are ok still change the STK's as they are the main problem. Good luck

My HDX82 is presently deadlier than dead. In my case, no flashing red light... no LED light at all. It simply will not power ON (trust me it's not the AC power).

This took place Friday morning. Authorized serviceman scheduled to call me for appointment early in the week. Hope he meant it when he said early.

Man, my life feels like a ship grounded on a sand bar!

Repairman took the entire base of the TV for repair...

The PCB Circuit board was covered by cat piss !!! Will need complete review at the tech lab.

In the meantime (should have done that long time ago) just found a method to impede cat traffic behind the TV, when the base comes back. Those of you with a male cat, take note.
