: Amazing Race 8 Official thread: Families compete in new 'Amazing Race'
Regarding the full moon last Tuesday. I thought it was very funny. I can't recall this team fighting or resorting to tears. They just seem to be enjoying the race. But how do you explain the fighting and bickering on the other teams to your daughters?
james99 2005-10-25, 06:19 PM Today's USAT article:

gesundheit 2005-10-25, 11:38 PM Jake, that team (and the Gaghans) are our family favorites. Which made it all the more surprising when the moon came out! We as a family are actually quite appreciative of our comparatively harmonious relationships relative to families like the Paolos. I'm glad there is some bickering going on, because otherwise I'm finding it difficult to get into this series. You need "bad guys" in a story! A team that you desperately want to finish last, but would take some of the emotional interest out of the show if they did exit.
I still think I'd rather not have one of my daughters pull a BA while I was in the car.
james99 2005-10-26, 06:29 AM I didn't think it was possible but I find the Gaghans more annoying each week.
Glad to see the race has finally begun. I guess S. America is probably next on the agenda.
james99 2005-11-03, 07:05 PM Show is much better now that they have left the US
supervij 2005-11-03, 11:07 PM I love that quote: "I have no money; I have love."
My poor girlfriend's gonna hear THAT one for a long time!
cheers,
supervij
urbanlegend 2005-11-07, 06:45 PM This series is very educational. I bet few people knew Lake Pontchartrain was one of the great lakes.
LOL! I can't get over those folks. Plus the constant "Jesus, Lord, please guide us through this race".

supergenius 2005-11-08, 12:33 PM Just a reminder for everyone, TAR is 2 hrs. tonight due to a CBS awards show that will preempt TAR on Nov. 15th. Adjust your timers accordingly.
supervij 2005-11-08, 11:01 PM Talk about giving Christian people a bad name!
"We're the only family trying to live a Christian life." -- one of those Weaver daughters.
Yeah, like it's the Christian thing to do to throw apples and trash at your competitors! What would Jesus do? I know! He'd tell the guard to give his competitors a huge long history lesson to slow them down.
I can't STAND these people. I hope they come in second place . . . just to make their defeat all the more delicious.
And look at them Godlewskis go! My money's still on the Linzs, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for the Desperate Housewives. (Especially for that cute Kari Matchett lookalike! Rrowrr!)
cheers,

james99 2005-11-09, 12:01 AM Go Wally!
MyHydrostreamIsFast 2005-11-23, 01:28 PM Watched "The Long Way Around" last night on OLN - opposite the amazing disgrace.
Much much much better show. I recommend you quit AR and view this quality program.
TheTinRam 2005-11-23, 03:56 PM Why does everybody hate the Florida team? I want them to win now.... just because everybody is against them.
WpgDan 2005-11-23, 04:16 PM Have you watched the show? Do you not listen to the things they say? As they for sure don’t, the things that come out of there mouth are far worse then what any other team says. They say one stupid thing or insulting thing one after another. I really hope they don’t win it would be a shame.

james99 2005-11-23, 06:18 PM I'm sure the Utah Board of Tourism were thrilled with last night's show. Let's hope the Weavers don't come into Canada.
marko 2005-11-23, 07:47 PM Even the prizes for finishing a leg first this time are not nearly as good as before. A trip to Wyoming? This is the same show that won an emmy? Yawn.
james99 2005-12-06, 10:11 PM Go Wally.
Robobob 2005-12-07, 09:04 AM Let's hope the Weavers don't come into Canada.
It looks like they might. The preview showed an airport and then them curling.
I hope God was busy doing something more important during the last leg and forgot to help them.
willrick 2005-12-07, 11:32 AM It looks like they might. The preview showed an airport and then them curling.
They actually do. They showed at least 2 locations in Montreal (one of them being the Olympic stadium) and they showed the pearson airport in Toronto.
TheTinRam 2005-12-07, 12:00 PM I was supporting the Weavers since everybody bullied them. But their god talk just gets to me for some reason.
Who I really don't like is the Linz family. They are arrogant SOBs. I really hope they don't win. My hope is:
1) Branson
2) Weaver
3) Linz
Lets get this over with so we can hope to get the real TAM back.
supervij 2005-12-07, 12:20 PM I don't think of the Linz family as arrogant; I just think they're having a hell of a lot more fun than every other team. That's what I like about them. Boisterous doesn't necessarily mean arrogant -- to me, anyway. Whereas the Weavers are just mean-spirited.
Like most others, I'm torn between the Linz family and Wally & his girls for the big win. Wally, despite his muttered "Shut up. I'm gonna kick somebody's ass" comment, seems like a great dad. Patient, understanding, and smart.
cheers,
supervij
