Hoping for any advice from those of you who have been playing with your 9200's for a while, and a search didn't reveal anything.

I have an ACER AT3201W (32") LCD tv connected to my 9200 as TV1 using either component or DVI-D (said to be HDCP compliant) connections. The component works great, but the DVI is truly bizarre. The image appears the correct size on the screen, but as a negative of the real picture, and with all colours shifted to bright PINK and/or orange, etc. Anyone experienced or heard of this type of image error using DVI from a 9200 (using Bell's supplied HDMI-DVI cable)?

The only think I could think of is that the DVI connector on my tv appears to be intended to work with a computer DVI output - would this be any different than the output from the 9200?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I'd really prefer to use the DVI connection over component. Thanks in advance.

hypervole who is truly puzzled...

Yea your acer is not hdcp compliant, therefore your picture turns into mush.

I have just encountered the same problem. I have been running a 9200 with a DVI cable to my Acer AT3201W since I bought the tv four months ago with no problems. The picture was amazing. I hadn't hooked up any other A/V equipment to it until two nights ago when I hooked up my Playstation2 to to the component3 input to watch a DVD. The DVD looked great but when I returned to satellite TV on the DVI-D input the picture was "mush" with the negative pyschodelic colours. I called Bell as I thought maybe they might have a fix but it because I have two different hdtv's and two 9200's I was able to swap them around and verify it's not the tuner, it's definitely the tv. Like you say, the manual says the TV is HDCP compliant and the 9200 was working perfectly for four months. Hypervole did you ever get a resolution to the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sam

If the TV is not HDCP compliant, you usually get a message to that effect. A pink colour usually indicates one of the cables in the connector is not connected properly, is bent (check by looking) or is broken. Try unplugging/replugging the cable a few times, or try a different cable.

There are several threads regarding the 9200 and HDMI - see those. Several discuss the poor mechanical connection as a likely culprit. This is definitely reinforced by the "pink".

I may have knocked the dvi connection loose from the TV when I connected the PS2. It's working again without me having done anything to it. I'll check to make sure the dvi connection to the tv is secure. Thanks for the info 57.
