I was going to wait until January or February for price drops, but if I can get the 50" KFE + Sony Stand for $2475, I'd jump right now. That blows away anything we've seen thus far. So if anyone finds out if that's the "real" Sony stand, please post here :)

Just bought the advertised stand from Sears today at 50% discount - $149.99. It is not the Sony stand but it does match with the 50A10. At this price, how can one resist. You will get scratch & save as well if your total purchase is over $200. You don't need to buy the TV from Sears to get the stand discount. It is listed on their web site with 50% off without any conditions.

The 42" stand (47-1/4" W) is wide enought for the 50" TV (46-5/8" W). In fact, it is a better match than the 50" stand which is much wider than the 50A10. It is a good solid stand since the shelves are supported by metal frames similar to that of the Sony stand.

The Sony stand is sold for its design but not effective in terms of housing equipment.

Confirmed at Sears Guildford, Surrey BC. On the floor in the advertised 'sticker' price:

Of course when FS priced matched and called Sears, the guy at Sears was positive it was a KDFE50A10, I'm sure it was not, but hey, if someone plays their cards right, they could get a 'D' version for $2299.99.

The KFE50A10 is now $2249.99 online at Best Buy for their F&F sale - think FS would pricematch on the one I bought this past week for $2347? That's a $100 difference!

But by the time I could get to FS tomorrow, the BB sale will be over.

I got the KDFE42A10 for $1,999.00, they didn't have the KFE and gave it to me for the same price :p

Plus 6 months no interest/no payments/no admin fee. Bought a BEV 6100 and component cables too.

BB is/was giving 10% off today at their stores and online this evening for "preferred" customers. (Anybody could have gone between 5pm-9pm EST at their stores in Ontario). I think you still have until 11pm EST to do it online.

They have a lower price tag ($2399) than BB. I ended up paid $2159 for 50A10. Unfortunately I only knew that when I walked into the store at 8pm, otherwise I would have posted it here earlier.

I just called FS's customer service line to see if I could get a pricematch from Best Buy's F&F sale on the KFE50A10 - he said I would have had to call while the sale was still on, and I could've got the match. Darn it, I didn't realize their phone line was open 24/7. I thought they had regular business hours. Guy had no sympathy, either.

Oh well, hopefully another good price will come up in the next 3 weeks.

Reason why I ask is because I went into Sears today and the guy said that you have to buy a TV to get the 50% discount, and he even showed me the flyer. On the website, there are no conditions, but you must pay for shipping which is an extra $50.

Also, are you using the smaller 42-46" stand for the 50" KFE right now, and it fits ok? I'm just skeptical to order it for a 50" TV before I see it fit on it. Thanks

I bought the 50a10 at sears yesterday for the $2299 price - $20.00 scratch and save. TV would be ready for pickup by the weekend. Read the Forums today about the FS and BB 10% off prices. Dammit Dammit Dammit

I printed off the price of $2159 that mlai01 got and went down to BB tonight and was able to get the TV for $2150 then went to sears to cancel our order

Gotta go back in a couple days to pick up.

I could have also had a good deal on the 50 inch SXRD from Visions at $3988. Talked to a guy at FS (their price $4999) who said he could beat Visions price by 10% of the difference = $100 which would make it $3888 :eek:
At this point couldn't justify spending almost 2x as much $$$ since 1080P material so limited. Maybe in 4 or 5 years time to upgrade again. Hopefully the dumbo ears will disappear by then. I liked the looks the 55A20 better than the SXRD and the 50A10

The way I see it, I can use the $2500 that I save by buying the 50a10 now to buy a 1080p in 5 years that is far, far superior to the SXRD...and by then, there will actually be 1080p content. In the meantime, I can enjoy my 50a10 and eventually use it as a 2ndary bedroom TV.

It's not the right Sears Flyer unfortunately, but you can check out Future Shop and Best Buy's flyers... Good for grocery comparisons too!

I think it depends on the sales rep, some are strict and stick to the rule when others are more easy going. I suggest you print out the price from the web and try your luck again with another rep asking them to match the price on their own web site. That was what I did, showing the rep with the web price.
