i'm in victoria
a good part of why i bought the 520 was low cost (1499 at sears) and i have heard that calibration is as much as 500
i might consider 200 but 500 would be too much
do you know what he charges?

Do a search for "calibrat*" in the thread title. There have been previous discussions on the subject. Most people have approved of the results. Expect to pay say $3-500 as a first blush.

Greetings

Pricing depends on what type of service you want. Could be $350 for ISF basics or $500 for more extensive work ... or higher if you want to fine tune the HD part of the set too.

It's a tune up ... a once over to make sure the TV is functioning at its optimal level. Whether is makes a difference depends entirely on the condition of your TV and no one can say until they actually see it ... although chances are good that it would make a difference. (Now a difference you would appreciate is a subjective matter.)
