This is fun software. You can plot locations on a satellite map, zoom in and out on the locations, generate directions, email graphics and animations, etc, etc.

I've come to the conclusion that you can't. If you want someone else to see your flight, they have to have the software.....which is free. This would be a good feature to have.

Have you tried the directions....they seem very accurate.

That's amazing, I used Keyhole a few months back and they were expensive after the trial ended, and now look at this, rich Google brings Keyhole to us for free.

I like google maps. They are helping me learn geograghy of the USA at a very convenient click of the mouse.

Google Earth is seriously the coolest fcuking thing I've seen on the net.

I use it ALL THE TIME when traveling. Makes it so much easier to find my way to customer sites, find my hotel, find restaurants in the area, etc. I'm going to the Nova Chemicals plant just outside of Red Deer, Alberta, in Febuary and Google Earth showed me how to get there.

I can't get the schools or hospitals to show up on it.. but I did find my city and street, I just cant get the houses etc to show up

Some of the rural areas are lower resolution but they are updating it continuously.

I'm pretty sure that is the first thing 99% of people do with Google Earth.

Unfortunately most (none ?) of Canada isn't mapped in high res but you should still be able to make out your house.

In my case, you can see my house, the fact that one car is in the driveway, and the wicked reflection off the roof of my shed. I checked last night and it hasn't been updated since we started our renovation.

If you want a good high res example, check out the pool at the Bellagio in Las Vegas or the Statue of Liberty. You can easily count the people.

Just so you guys know you can enter your Postal Code or a latitude and longitude to fly to a point. Set your TILT to about 45°, turn on terrain and fly around for more fun.

Try pasting the following into GE:

M9C5H5
or
43 36 52N,79 33 23W

Also, you can create customized views and locations and email the KMZ or KML file to your friends. I have done this with some pictures I have taken. For examples view Google Earth Community or browse the Layer tree in Google Earth.

I think most of it is not very current.
My neighbours put a pool in 2 years ago,
and it does not show up.
Anyone have any idea on how current any area is?
