As was my worry, The Brick keeps putting off the delivery date on my receiver. At this point I have no reason to think that it won't actually arrive, but it's frustrating that they keep moving the date back.

Steve

Same here Steve..first was 12th..then 19th-21st..now it is "soon"..so just have to wait and see.

Mine is ordered and prepaid so I have a bill with a date.

But to get Bell's $100 install rebate it has to be activated by a certain date and I'm worried that date will come and go before the box arrives.

The date it needs to be activated by is October 2nd so hopefully you will receive it before then.

you probably won't see another shipment of 9200 series receivers until mid september.

hi everyone... new here. i've been lurking around for a while and got all the info for hooking up the 9200. i finally just received my separator and dpp twin lnb. unfortunately i can't find the receiver anywhere! (currently have the 6100)

has anyone seen any availability for existing customers in the gta?

i phoned bell directly and they told me they can get me a receiver in about 10 to 15 days. unfortunately, they told me that it only includes the receiver and the switch. i told them that i wanted the dish because it's for an installation on the other side of my house (new entertainment room). it's easier to put up a new dish and run 75' of cable instead of running over 320' from the other side. the csr shrugged me off and told me no can do... i gotta buy a dish from a 3rd party vendor. frustrated, i asked how much the receiver was and he told me 599$. when i asked how much it was for a new customer, he again told me 599$. i asked him how the price could be the same if i'm receiving less equipment. he admitted that it doesn't make much sense but that he's only a csr and that's what bell is saying. so i told him no thanks for now i'll look elsewhere. does anyone think that bev is now indeed packaging the 9200's differently or this guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about and i'll still receive the dish in the box too? i wouldn't mind buying from bell over the phone but i really need the dish too... and i feel it's a rip-off to pay the same price for less equipment. your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I don't have a 9200 myself, but everybody I've talked to on the board here says it does come with a dish; new subscriber or current.

Also, looking at the current wait times, 10-15 days sounds about right.

Yesterday I was told August 29. So perhaps my info is a day old. I won't waste my time calling in again! I'll just go with yours.

Actually I have stated before that I can not see BEV continuing to package all the stuff with the 9200's for current subs, just does not make sense economically. I think they provided the same package as current subs in order to get them into customer hands as quickly possible as there was much pent up demand for a Hd-PVR.

As to getting less that a new sub, well a new sub normally needs a dish and a current sub normally does not unless they have the older 18" dish and I beleive this also follows standard BEV pricing for the 5900 -> 5920 and 5200 -> 5220. I can see them keeping the Sw44 with the 9200 as you need it in order to use the two tuner feature and hooking up second receiver.

That all being said the 9200 is still an excellent deal, with or without the dish. Compared to the DishNetworks price ($699 Usd/$800+ CAD) you can't really complain about BEV pricing in any way. You could get the receiver professionally installed, which BEV is still supposed to have a promoto where they give you a $100 rebate off your bill. If a second dish is needed due to distance that would be part of the install especially if you go though BEV for the installation.

I finally got my rental unit installed on Wed/Thur of this past week. The local Bell installer (Innovative Sat Solutions) came at 4:59 and was able to get cables run and dish hooked up. (be there from 1-5, yeah right)

The next day, I downloaded and talked with the Bell rep to add programming. Within 10 minutes all was up and running.

I am now more or less happy in Edmonton!

One more thing....it was a 9200 for my new rental unit.

All I want to do is become paying subscriber to Bell. I can't find a 9200 anywhere and nobody can say when or how many are coming. Bell CSR's tell me that if I order online I can have one within 10 days but I'll have to pay the installer as only the installers seem to have stock.

What a load that is...my house already has a dish with 4 lines from the lnb's to 2 switches and into the house...why would I want to pay for an install? 100 bucks to unpack the box and put batteries in is what it would be cuz the I sure as hell am not letting the installer touch my theater setup.

Bell won't even rent me a receiver so that I can get the programming up and running until I can get my paws on a 9200.

So I thought ok I'll buy a 3100 and use that until I can get a 9200...well the guy at Bell told me that if I was a current subscriber I stood no chance of getting a 9200 as they were only making them available to new subs. Catch 22 or what.

Question are you going under a 12 or 24 month contract? If it is 24 months the install is free plus you get an instant rebate of $30 plus $20 PPV credits. So your net install cost is $0 as BEV is picking up the cost. If you are going on a 12 month then there is a $99 install charge, but I beleive until the end of September you will get $100 rebate on your bill for installation that you get aproximately 6 weeks after activation of the 9200.

So if the $100 promo is still on, there is still no cost for you to have it installed even on a 12 month contract however you will be putting $100 out upfront.

Your final option is to wait until there is stock of 9220's in the store (I thought I read somewhere nothiing until at least mid September) and possibly missing out on the $100 rebate.

I didn't want to get hosed into another contract but when I got on the phone they told me that the only way I could get a 9200 would be to rent one. So I reluctantly signed up. 2 weeks later they phone to tell me they had no installers who could do it and I would eithewr have to take a day off work or wait another 2 weeks.

I told them to shove their rental. I'll wait till I can buy one in a store.

I'm not sure if anything's changed in the past couple of weeks, but I ordered one about 10 days ago, and I waiting for the installer today.
I'm in Vancouver, and I couldn't find one in any stores, so I just called the 800 number and bought it.

What a crock...I ordered mine online 4 weeks ago and selected an install date. I received an email saying that due to demand the install date had to be changed to a week later. No problem. That morning I got a call saying they would be unable to do the install as they were out of stock. The next available install date - September 22. :( They were very quick to bill my credit card for the $600, but not so quick to deliver the goods. They said the installers have lots of RENTAL 9200's in stock but I am unable to purchase one. I asked about renting one until my purchased one is ready, and they said I would have to lock in for 2 years rental...guess what I said to that?

I am trying to find one locally, but no luck...Edmonton is completely void of any 9200's.

Oh well...September 22 is not that far away...too bad the CSR couldn't guarantee they will have stock for that day...I may burn another vacation day for nothing...

At the store where I work we currently have 3 x 9220 Kits (New Clients Only) currently in stock. We are located in the Montreal area, but I am not sure if I am allowed to post my details on this board. PM me and I will be glad to supply the info.

I did this too and was told they would charge the visa when it ships... they charged it same day and when I phoned today to complain they didn't even know when I would get it

Altaman,

Where did you find the info on the installation rebate? I haven't been able to find it anywhere on the bell site. I was planning on the 24mth plan not the 12 but if I can get the 12 and still not pay install... :D

BubbaMike, there is stock showing at the BestBuy in Edmonton NE. Don't suppose you already called there? Both Calgary and Red Deer had stock Monday morning and sold out just before I showed up. :(

If anyone in Lethbridge is interested Bell World told me there are 2 receivers in the store there. I can't find the time to drive down to Lethbridge.

I guess I am relegated to watching the trucks roll into the docks at FS & BB on receiving day in anticipation of getting a glimpse of the elusive HDPVR. The wife's not going to be happy if she misses her season premiers :p

Hi Kim:

the install rebate has been mentioned on these forums and I had called Bell and confirmed that there was a rebate for new/existing subs. The only problem with this $100 rebate is nobody has seem it in print, only verbally (and as far as I know nobody has seen the $$ yet, mind you it is supposed to take about 6 weeks to get).

What I would do is call BEV and ask them to comfirm...it is a toll free call at 1-888-759-3474, tell them you are interested in becoming a subscriber under the 12 month plan, heard about the $100 rebate and want to confirm.
