The last two days I've had good T.O. reception of CITY, Global and Sun TV, the latter two I have never received enough to get a picture. Go figure.

yea this is no good... im getting cw, fox and pbs right now but at reduced levels... so much for the tropospheric dxing... if this mist or whatever is blocking the signals is not gone tomorrow then we are going to miss it

same here. 33, 38, 39 pretty much gone in Georgetown :( No Letterman tonight. Speaking of which, anybody know if Omni1 shows Letterman in HD?

This past week when I decided to scan in for Omni on my other tv tuners all of Rochester and Nbc(WSTM) Syracuse have been coming in pretty strong.

Last night here Jay Leno.

When I first moved into my house 3 years ago, I used one of those t-string fm antennas on an amp to watch tv and at 3am I was catching WWTI from Watertown, NY (300km) on Analog Ch 50 clearly. I thought it was pretty funny catching this station on a really crappy antenna :)

I noticed Hepburn's tropo forecast site hasn't been updated for the week ahead yet, but here's a tip for Ontarian folks with rotors as we approach the summer:

When the tropo predictions look really good, point towards Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, or Erie late in the evening and you might be getting some great U.S. Midwest tropo from places like Indianapolis, Chicago, Minneapolis, etc. ;)

Nomon, No Carribean channels. They were cooking up some Rice and Peas on a PBS cooking show though. :D

Getting 22% to 36% consistent on WROC-DT from Rochester here in downtown Ottawa, only 20 minutes after sunset. Could be a good night for DX. Hepburn was also calling for fair DX tonight

9:35 pm - add WGRZ-HD from Buffalo in there at 40% - not quite enough but maybe in an hour. Also WSYT-DT from Utica 40%

10:30 - WROC just hitting the threshold but blocky. Around 60% unstable. Buffalo signals getting stronger too but Utica is falling away. I'm trying to compare my custom 8 element yagi (UHF 20's - 30's) with custom high gain 54143 preamp against my Gray - Hoverman with a ChannelMaster 7775 preamp. hard to compare with the unstable signals but they seem about the same. The GH is better where mine cuts out over channel 45 no question.

almost 11:00 - Very strange. Getting analog CW23 WNYO and fox 29 from Buffalo almost perfect reception !? but nothing at all from WGRZ-HD anymore. Also had both WUHF - HD and WROC-DT for about 10 minutes at almost 100%.

11:07
this is a very strong DX night. One of the strongest in a while. got WTVH-HD (Syracuse?) on 47 for first time (at 100%) also WSYT-DT now reading 100%. Watertown booming in all digital channels 100%. Buffalo analog 23 and 29 very strong - 29 is almost perfect. I think the problem is there are sooo many channels in both analog and digital that they are interfering with one another so hard to get many channels. CTS-32 from Ottawa is completely overriden here with radio-canada french CBC for some reason

Add WSYR-HD and WSYR-2 on channel 17. I think they are PBS from Syracuse. Still cant get what's on 54 but it's an HD signal from somewhere.

Gerry - CBCF 32 is Kingston's local French CBC. WTVH-HD is indeed Syracuse, CBS. WSYR is ABC Syracuse, the second channel is a variety channel (VTV). I am going to guess the signal on 54 is WSTM - NBC Syracuse.

I was seeing WKTV tonight (29) from Utica tongiht. Its an NBC Channel but was only broadcasting in 480i. I think they don't broadcast in HD.

All ive been able to get on 29 has been Fox 29 from buffalo. Now Ive finally got WGRZ high def at about 90% -- a lot of strong propagation all over the place tonight it seems. Funny though that even with a perfect signal out of Watertown and those Buffalo channels, I lost Rochester completely.

I think I am seeing WJET from Erie tonight. Its around 1:00am and channel 24 is showing "Miracle Cures They Don't want you to Know About". Unless PBS Syracuse started doing infomericials, I am getting a good skip. Hopefully I'll get some call letters before the channel fades.

Yes Dxing is still strong with my antenna pointed towards Buffalo south west Rochester is still strong lastnight and this morning.

Too bad they dont have different programming. Too lazy to use the rotor and swing the antenna east or west for more stations.
