I have two issues to discuss regarding my 9241 hd receiver.
One, can I use two SW21's instead of the other switches? Right now I only have sat 91 connected so I can't benefit from the HD or PVR.

And two, when I connect HDMI to surround receiver I don't get a picture. It goes in and out for a few seconds each but when I connect Rogers HDMI it works just fine, as does my dvd player connected to the surround receiver then to the tv.

I should mention that when I connect the HDMI from the 9241 directly to the tv it works but I obviously don't benefit from the surround reciever sound.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben

I should also mention that I have a dish set up with two lnb's and two cables running from each lnb. Can I connect the SW21 to each lnb and then to the 9241? I'm not sure if I use one from 82 and one from 91 to each SW21 and then to the receiver. Please let me know what the cable set up is for this application. It's been many yrs and things have changed so much.

Thanks again,

Ben

How to install the SW21's,;

Search the forums for the HDMI problem with a receiver, it is very common and Bell will advise switching to Component.

I am using a DP Quad LNB and DPP44. 4 RG6 running to DPP44.

9241 running fine. I am running a third RG6 to a 4100. Only getting a few channels (12,119,...). First thought it was just bad programming synchro between receivers but that didn't fix anything.

Any idea?

Try removing 2 of the lines from the LNBF to the DPP44. I could be wrong but I think it only requires 2 feeds.

Works perfectly. Thank you very much.

I purchased a 9241 yesterday, but I didn't realize you needed to run two RG6 to the receiver from the switch. My house is finished so is there a way to be able to only run one RG6 from my switch to the receiver? Use some kind of converter at the switch and then again at the receiver, or something like that?

Thanks!

Try looking at using a DPP 44 switch.

I think there are 2 things wrong.

Firstly, the 9241 is a Dual Tuner Receiver, therefore it requires a feed for each Tuner, you only have one. You need to duplicate the setup you have now, with another SW21.

Secondly, I am guessing that the 82 LNBF is picking up 91 Signals, hence the reason you are NOT getting 82.

You need to remove the SW21 and use a small Barrel connector (F81), to connect from the 91 LNBF, directly to the Receiver. Set the Skew on the Dish, for your location. Aim the Dish onto 91, peak the signals.

Connect BOTH SW21's and run a second line to the receiver. Run a "Check Switch" and that should be it.

Thanks to all who answered my questions on the remote thread about the UHF and 6131 questions i had. Now, i'm thinking of getting the 9241 after all..... Here's my set-up:

dual lnb to sw21 switch to 4100 (living room)
dual lnb to sw21 switch to 4100 (basement)

I want to upgrade the basement receiver to a 9241. After reading a lot of threads, i think i need to only put a "dpp plus separator" on the coax going to the basement and then feeding both sat inputs of the 9241. Is this right ? My 2 sw21 switches were installed on the dish outside. Then i have the 2 coax cables going into the house (one in living room, one in basement.) I was told that i was HD ready with this set-up. I would like to avoid running more cables outside to the dish, so was hoping that the basement coax could be split to feed the 9241....

You need DPP LNBs to use a separator. If you don't want more than two cables into the house, you'll need a DPP Dual Twin LNB. Lots of info. about DPP - search is your friend.

Wondering if someone can help with 9241
hey guys last few days the receiver will be recording on 1 tuner and when i try to watch another channel, it says do you want to stop recording.
if i press no, then it go to searching for sat signal screen for the 2nd tuner.

can anyone tell me what to do to test to see if a tuner is not working, or trouble shoot to see what the problem is?

TIA

First thing I would do is check to see that there are 2 cables feeding the Inputs at the rear of the receiver.....

Then run a Check Switch;

MENU, 6, 1, 1

when i go check switch
it says one more sats lost.

so i figure sw21 is dead or a cable is no good.

will figure it out later
