W. Mark Felt, a former deputy associate director of the FBI has been identified as "Deep Throat," according to an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

Well almost 30 years after watching All the Presidents Men, I know the answer. Too bad I forget 99% of the details around Watergate!

Actually it was reported in the earlier 90's that it was him but woodward and bernstein would not confirm it. Nixon also suspected and stated that he felt it was Felt.

Actually, according to at least one story, he (or at least his family) was looking for money--they wanted to get paid for the story. I don't know what it says about his motives...at least he still went ahead with it after they refused to pay him for it.

All The Presidents Men is on CBC tongiht/now. I think its a great movie, despite Redford and Hoffman's hair and pants :)
It's fun knowing who it is now, and watching the movie.

And how fitting CBC show a movie about illegal Republican actions just days after the Conservatives were put in power.... ;) I know this movie was probably scheduled before the election, but its still kinda funny.

A new version of the DVD comes out next month.
