57 2007-12-17, 10:36 AM The only time you need to tweak the STB that requires the power off is when doing the advanced setup wizard. To run the wizard it's best to go to the front of the STB anyway and you can turn it off then using the button on the STB... Glad you found the correct manual. panissimov 2008-01-28, 08:39 PM Has anyone come across this problem? I left Pace 551 box running for about 10 hours with my TV off. When I turned TV back on, the 1080i format was showin the picture that is beyond the frame, i.e. the name of the channel is below the bottom frame, the temperature at HD City news is above the top frame. I plugged it out and followed the set up procedures. Still the same. Called Roger's support and was asked to go through the same stuff. No change occured. I wanted them to have my box exchanged, they claim it might be the new software update that causes such problems. Any ideas, solutions? Thanks! Cyclism 2008-01-28, 08:41 PM Sounds like you turned on the STB's stretch mode. Easy fix. Press the # button on the remote until the picture fills the screen properly. Nothing wrong with your STB. 57 2008-01-29, 12:08 AM Or you enabled one of the stretch modes on your TV. I believe that a cold reboot of the STB takes you back to "normal", but perhaps not. I just turn on the tv once or twice a week. almost every month, tv can't find hdmi sigal, so i have to reboot cable box with component calbe and change it into hdmi cable to get the hdmi signal back. Is this TV problem or cable box problem? 57 2008-04-21, 12:01 AM There have been a huge number of HDMI issues with the Pace STBs. This is certainly not uncommon and a once-a-month reboot is not a bad idea anyway. Have a look at the following thread on HDMI Issues. I'm wondering if I should buy an HD Box or just rent. If I were to buy, as the Roger's Client service people advise, which box is recommended? What's the difference between PVR and HDMI? I always thought HDMI was the top of the chain. HDMI is a type of connector (cable). The purchase vs rent decision is a personal one and you need to compare the costs and decide for yourself. The latest STB is the SA4250HD and the latest PVR is the SA8300HD. Jordan 2009-01-24, 02:19 PM Hi, I have a samsung ln32a550 and i have just rented an hd box from rogers. It turns out that i got the pace dc551pf and i am really dissapointed in the picture. The picture quality is best when i am browsing shows in the guide menu and not even the hd channels have great clarity. Make sure you only have one video connection from the STB to the TV - Don't connect anything for video other than component video cables or HDMI and make sure the TV is tuned to that input. 3.
