The multiple receiver charge is still applied to legacy packages I believe.

Even if you have a legacy package where you pay for multiple receivers; it's a flat $5 no matter if you have 2 receivers or if you have 6. It's the American systems that charge a MRF for each receiver.

It would be nice to get some more porn.

Or even a few channels... which are pornographic.

Just a thought. :D

$2.99 flat fee for the package I'm in.

From some of the channels showing in the guide, it looks like BEV is going to be carrying HBO soon, which seems odd.

I guess hope springs eternal.

:D

HBO or HBO-C or whatever it is.. stands i think for "Hackers Be Aware Of the Cops"
(or something simular)..
as some joke or a trick or something..and has nothing to do with real HBO.. lol :)

HBO-C Coming Soon
See this thread: http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25426

Or have a look at channel 299 and see what it's called now.

It can't be HBOC (Hackers Beware channel and it was never HBO-C) as this would only be seen with Hacked cards, not regular subbed cards.

anyhow .. as noted at another forum - they must got lots of slack and phone calls over this last few days (if HBO coming to Canada, etc .. hehe) - cuz they now changed the EPG name for ch 299 to "NAGRA"
:)

I am on a bundle contract with BEV and will have to wait til July 2006 to leave BEV or pay $200 if I break it now.
I want Hustler Canada, Redlight District and AOV. Rogers has those but BEV only seems to wanna carry thier PPV Venus. Those others on Rogers you can sub to, $30 for two of them.

just do what every one else does and download it from the internet...that $30/month saved will buy you a case of Lucky, and you will still have a couple of bucks to spare.;)

Jenna JamesonRulez is right.

BEV seems to carry a limited amount of the stuff. Usually the entire month's worth of movies are watched within the first week. With porn being such a huge industy they should carry more. With their selection so limited it's no wonder their revenues are "short" for BEV's offerings. If they offered more I bet their revenues would climb like crazy for these channels, but who wants to watch the same movie over and over again more than 3 times a week :D . That would be like being married  .

We need more channels, and much more porn, offered by BEV, so we don't have to download.

Or maybe we do need Rogers; they are making money from it.

Just a thought.

Yep seems Rogers was feeling the hit a couple of years back when BEV gained alot of ground, but now it seems to have tapered off and Rogers has gained thier ground again. If by next summer no Hustler Canada, Redlight District and AOV then I will be trading my IRD's in to Rogers for thier Digital Terminals and go back to them after a 6 year absence.

i don't know if Roger's will continue many of their promo's to "win" customers back...they are losing a lot of money right now, and it will only be a matter of time until the doors are closed (at least part way, and not left wide open like they are right now).

Rogers now owns Fido and Sprint Canada and are seeking to buy out Cogeco. I don't think they are losing that much money.

they lost $13 million last year, and have already lost $47 million in Q1 of this year.

Rgers is not losing large. They have aquired Fido and Sprint Canada and own a percentage of Cogeco and want to buy them outright. They are not in a financial problem at all. BEV is in no different shape eother. BEV has to start offering new channels or they will lose customers. I know you are such a pro-BEV supporter but is it right to not offer your 2 million customers the new channels that your competitors on cable are offering or is that a moot point? Make em buy your equipment and know that they will not leave right away after investing money into IRD's? Not offer new channels?
Hey I want Hustler Canada, AOV and Redlight District. I don't want to have to pay for a PPV movie I would prefer to sub to those channels which is what you do on cable. Again BEV is not doing much, I emailed them and called them last year about these channels and they told me that they take input from customers and review what people are interested in.
BEV won't carry those 3 adult channels because Venus PPV is pure profit for them, and to have these channels would take away the profit they make off of Venus.
Trust me adult PPV is pure profit, they buy the rights to those movies at a one shot deal and make money off of them each time someone orders them.
